Farewell to February.

February. As much as I want this year to slow down, you couldn't have lasted any longer. January and February are by far, and I mean by FAR, the worst months the 12 month calendar has to offer.
Now that my negative banter about February and January is out of the way... I would like to share some of my goals I would like to set for March.
  • Only hit snooze once when my alarm goes off.
  • Get to work 10 minutes early to avoid stress.
  • Cut pop completely out of my diet. Goodbye you delicious, carbonated delight! My thighs will miss you.
  • Not pouting as much when I have a bad day. (Remember how I'm 20 years old? Pouting shouldn't be in my vocab).
  • Save $$$. Now that I'm debt free, I want to work on saving.
I'm usually diligent when it comes to goal keeping, thus, giving me hope that I can live up to that list.
I couldn't be happier that Spring is right around the corner! It seems like forever since Spring wrapped its arms around me. It's a beautiful time of year and the weather is absolutely perfect. Also, with everything blooming and coming out to say hello again, it makes being outside visually pleasing. My #1 reason for being a total fanatic about spring is the tulips! Doesn't matter the color, they are adorable. Tulips might be my absolute favorite flower. Spring, you have a lot to make up for the damage February left.

New and learned habits..

A lot can happen in two years. Both big and small changes. Like moving to a new house/state, new job opportunities, achieving goals, becoming paralyzed, learning to ride a bike and picking up every single habit your boyfriend of two years has. Since me and my boyfriend Steve have been dating, he has slowing and unintentionally got me up to his habits. Personally, I like that this is happening. A perfect example is my new found love and habit of peppering food. When I was still single, lonely and bitter I was not big on salting OR peppering any type of food. And I mean ANYTHING. In fact, I would throw a mini hissy fit if my food came with pepper on it. But somehow, during these two glorious years, I was converted to peppering my food. I am peppering everything!! If it can be eaten, it can be peppered. (possible the lamest motto ever)? I absolutely love this. I love how someone I look up to so much can get me to try new things without even meaning to. So thank you, Steve. For spicing up my life. :)

Happy weather makes a happy me.

Ya know that horribly repeated saying, "The best things in life are free?" Yes, it is cheesy, but sometimes... I like cheese. Well today, I absolutely agree. I step outside to a sunny 57 degree Saturday in February. It is impossible to not feel cheer when you are out in this kind of weather. In an ideal world, I would have broke out into song and dance and there would be birds flying around me and rainbows too. All this happened in my head, which is just as nice. I have a pretty bitchin' imagination. I used to struggle with the thought of giving up all emotion if it meant you would never feel pain/sadness again. At first, I said 'of course!!! duh'. But on days like today when everything is just so peaceful and beautiful, I can't imagine not being able to feel happiness and fully enjoy this. Would it be worth it? To never feel sadness and pain again but also give up every other emotion? Like excitement, happiness, contentment, love, laughter etc. I find myself ruled by my emotions more than Iwould like to be. I am constantly feeling. I now know that there is no possible way for me to sacrifice all emotion just so I won't ever feel sad again. I'm a big girl. Yes, I still do silly things when I'm upset that I regret almost immediately, but the best way to learn is from experience.

Change? Yes, please!

"Change is the only constant in life." I've been looking for a nice change these last few weeks. A bland winter tends to do that to me. Just anything that wouldn't make my day the same from start to finish.Change my hair? I already did. Blunt bangs. My forehead is loving its new friends. My wardrobe? I will need money first, and my money tree unfortunately only exists in my head. These days, I'm lucky to have a steady job, I don't want to risk leaving this one. So, what did I finally change to give me the "that's more like it" feeling? I rearranged my desk at work. Who would have thought something so silly, so small could have done the trick? Not I, said...me. I want to give a shout out to that extra 30 minutes that gave me time to rearrange my desk. Cheers!

February, where did you go?

How is February almost over?? This year is already going by too TOO fast!!!! 2010, slow down, please. I would like to enjoy you. I don't know if it's just cause I am getting older... or what. But the last couple years just FLY by without stopping for me to welcome them with open arms. One of my goals this year was to slow down, take a deep breath and enjoy everything. I tend to get ahead of myself sometimes because I'm always on the move. So 2010, this is your final warning! You better take the time and slow down so I can brag about you to the other years to come.

Change of Heart.

Believe it or not, I used to wholeheartedly HATE blogs. I hated everything about them. Well, hate is a strong word, so I suppose I should say they irritated me. Recently, my older Sister started talking about a blog that she follows. I thought, oh great, another blog about somebody going on and on about their day, their thoughts, their beliefs, etc. but I checked it out for myself, (in secret of course, I couldn't let them know, they would never let me live it down!) and I really liked it! Oddly, it's what inspired me to start this one. I guess i'll tell a little about myself.
