i keep getting goosebumps when i think about harry potter.
It's true. But they are goosebumps of pride! I will have it known that I just might be one of the biggest Harry Potter fans you will ever come across. Don't believe me? Just look at my Harry Potter pillow case.
Last night, Steve and I watched Little Miss Sunshine for the first time. We both give it two thumbs up. I wish I had bigger thumbs to give it more appreciation. I don't like to freely pawn off my personal movie reviews, so I will just say that I was extremely impressed with Steve Carell. For once, he wasn't playing the expected Michael Scott role.
However, he said this and it truly moved me.
"Anyway, he, uh, he gets down to the end of his life, and he looks back and decides that all those years he suffered, Those were the best years of his life, 'cause they made him who he was. All those years he was happy? You know, total waste. Didn't learn a thing. You don't get better suffering than that."
Shortly after I graduated and went through the whole, "I'll never forget you!!" "KEEP IN TOUCH!!!" "We'll still hang out!" BLAH BLAH BLAH. I was soaking in depression.
I was totally isolated but yet, I didn't care. When I was alone I wanted to be with people and when I was with people all I wanted was to be alone.
I eventually chewed my depressions face off, spit out and danced on it. But when I remember those dark days, that's when my life was most interesting. That's when I learned the most about who I was. That's when I felt the most like myself.
Do you agree with that quote?

bits of my weekend.
I only learned two things I learned this weekend. Just two. And they are two simple facts:
1. Me and the wind will never be friends.
2.Buying a one piece pajama suit with footies is just as happy as it sounds.

june. july. august.
Summer is just about dead.
I was driving home the other night, and I had to roll my windows up cause it was too chilly. Not the good kind of chilly. But the kind of chilly that makes you frown.
Here is what will make me cry myself to sleep at night cause I miss it so much once Summer is over:
+Camping.
+Walking outside barefoot.
+Tank tops and sandals.
+Boating.
+Falling asleep with the windows open, listening to the dull hum outside.
+Vegging on the couch while eating popsicles.... I'll continue to do this. But it's more fitting and socially acceptable in the Summer.
+SLURPEES.
+BBQ's.
+Binging on Dippin' Dots at baseball games.
Highlight of the Summer was my birthday, of course. Not only was it my birthday. It was my 21st birthday. I'll give anybody a virtual high five if you can tell me what month it was in. I'll give you a hint. It rhymes with DUNE.
Bye, Summer. End already so I can start frolicking in the Fall.

is it possible to have an age crisis at age 21?
I'll answer my own question. YES. Yep. Uh-huh. Yeah. Yessiree ma'am. Sure. [insert any other ways to say yes here]. Yes it is possible to have an age crisis at the bleak age of 21.
We went to a high school football game tonight. Now, before you continue on with judging... Steve and I have both been graduated for four years and we went because it's the second largest football game in the state and it was only three minutes away from our apartment. Oh, that and we had nothing else to do.
We pick out our seats, comment on the stadium and the crowd turnout, etc. We get interrupted by a large group of high school kids. The high school kids were dressed in neon clothing, heavy/gilttery make up, wrists suffocating in bracelets, all eyes glued to their cell phones. We give each other a look of 'what did we do to deserve this?!!' They were loud, rowdy, and basically playing musical seats unintentionally.
I didn't recognize any of the music they were discussing/singing or any of the slang they would utter. And then it hit me, like a baby who think it's being playful when really it just slapped you and it hurts. I'm not one of those kids anymore. I am on the other side. Not that I wish I was in their awkward, uncomfortable, creepy part of life, I just apprehended that I somewhat miss the youth, the lack of responsibility and the carelessness that came with high school but at the same time, I don't want those days back even if it were possible.
There is a line that we cross in life. (Wow, did I really just type that?) Before the line, we still have the mentality of 'someday I will do this, someday I want to become this, etc' Once you cross the line, the mentality becomes, 'I wish I did this, I should have done this, I wish it wasn't too late to become this'
I will now leave you with Alphaville, seems fitting for this post:

when i say green, you say tea. green! ....
When I think of enticing, I think of green tea. I also think of green tea when I think delicious. I was happy when I found out all of the benefits you get from drinking green tea. Almost as happy as I was the first time I tried it. I knew my like in beverages would never be the same.
Like:
It is used for treatment and prevention of cancer
It is used to stop Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases
It is used to raise the metabolism and increase fat oxidation.
It reduces the risk of heart diseases and heart attacks by reducing the risk of trombosis.
Drinking green tea inhibits the growth of certain cancer cells, reduces the level of cholesterol in blood, improves the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol.
It is used to treat cardiovascular diseases
It is used to treat impaired immune function.
Some researches show that, drinking green tea regularly may help prevent tooth decay by killing the bacteria which causes the dental plaque.
So, make some green tea or go retrieve some cold bottled green tea (my favorite), sit back and let all these benefits do their job.

lies i never told at all.
What did you do tonight? What did I do? I had a date with Zooey Deschanel. Sort of. She & Him was playing in Salt Lake tonight. I would be lying on so many levels if I told you that I didn't jump up and down while clapping when I actually saw Zooey Deschanel, ZOOEY DESCHANEL on stage.
I was hassled with the responsibility of not littering my empty water bottle (your welcome planet Earth). I got awfully bored holding it, acting like it was a bat, tossing and catching it, etc. So I invented something. The next time you are burdened with a water bottle, try this:
TIP: it only works if your shirt is stretchy and sort of spandexy. Spandexy? I just made that up.

take a walk on the wild side.
This week at work, there has been red finger prints on everything I've touched, walked by, looked at (not sure how that works) and even stood by. It's not what you're thinking. I've rediscovered Flamin' Hot Cheetos. Flamin' Hot Cheetos: consider this my ode to you. Everyone who has ever snacked on Cheetos, spicy or regular, know that your fingers get a new disguise when done. It doesn't help that they are addicting... or unhealthy for that matter.
I have this ongoing battle with our alarm clock. It's causing me to have a trivial case of OCD. It's not a battle that I sleep through it or jam it's snooze button off. It's a battle if I have it set for AM and not PM. Or if I turned the volume up all the way. Or if I turned it all the way on. AHHHH. I think I'm suffering a minor anxiety attack just by sharing this with my blog friends. [insert me breathing in a brown paper bag here].
The other day, I left for work before Steve got up for work. I am ashamed to admit that I checked the alarm clock 6 times before I left.
So there I am, driving in my car, singing and choreographing dances in my head, and I think, Did I set it for AM and not PM? Yes, Kaleena, you freak, you checked it 6 times. I dunno, I better go check.
I flip around, keep in mind I was about to turn into my work parking lot. Drive all the way home to find the alarm was set for the AM, full blast and complete on.
*Facepalm.

bits of my weekend.
5 things I learned this weekend.
1. I can go to bed at 4AM and not need any caffeine to function the next day.
2. Spaghettios will always hit all the right spots when you are desperately hungry.
3. The House Breakfast at 'The Other Place' restaurant will probably be the best breakfast I'll eat in this lifetime.
4. I have too many clothes. So. Much. Clothes.
5. No matter how hard I try, I will always fail at cleaning my closet out. I finally decided on ONE shirt, ONE SHIRT, I could get rid of. Guess what? I wore it today.

coming soon to just add kaleena.
Announcement to just add Kaleena readers and/or followers:
Remember this day. Remember that this is the day that I, Kaleena, decided to do a thing called Photo of the Day. Everyday, from here on out, I will post an image (along with a normal daily post. Duh) that I find from the internet.
I hope you enjoy it.

aren't saturdays supposed to be the best?
Top reasons why I didn't like today:
+The wind was blowing. Oops. Did I say blowing? Well I meant it was blasting. I don't mean a little breeze, that makes you think, oh that felt nice. At one point, I felt like I was near 22 helicopters that were all stationary with their propellers spinning.
+A headache has been haunting me since I woke up.
+So. Our laptop batteries AND chargers died. Kicked the bucket. Perished. Not only did they die, they conveniently died at the same time. I think they planned it. I know they planned it.
+We went out and about searching for a place to replace the batteries and chargers (THANK YOU Batteries Plus) and every car we were behind were driving as if they were blind folded. It was painful.
Saturdays are overrated.

if you don't pay your exorcist you can get repossessed.
;lkJ;AIVNISAIORUAOSIEJRAKJGGRRRRR. That was the sound of my stomach growling earlier today. I crossed the line of being so hungry, that no matter what I looked at, I imagined what it would taste like.
Then, something wonderful happened. Somebody kindly brought me a sandwich. It sat on the desk in front of me, so innocently, not knowing I was about to devour the poor thing. I had a moment of anxiety when I felt like I couldn't eat it fast enough.
NOM. NOM. NOM.
Eight minutes later I was drowing in regret. Between feeling completely gorged and satisfied, I felt as if I might have my fifteen minutes of fame on the news for 'Local girl explodes from eating a sandwich too fast and being so full'
bits of my weekend. -delayed version.
This post is making history. And so are you if you are reading it! I'm posting bits of my weekend (from last weekend) on a Thursday. That's right. ON A BLASTED THURSDAY. Procrastinate much? Things may get a little complicated.
8 things I learned this weekend:
6.An entire weekend without a cell phone is PHENOMENAL. Made me realize how much animosity I have for my phone.
7. Discovered there isn't another word for: synonym.
8.Surprised myself with how much 90's rap I've been listening to... in secret.... shhhh.
8 things I learned this weekend:
1. It only takes one mt dew to ruin my entire "healthy eating dealy" (if you can call it that). just one.
2. My mental lists will erase themselves. Always.
3. There is nothing you can do to not make it painfully awkward when you glance at someone only to find they were already looking at you. I tried, and failed painfully. note to self: make them uncomfortable back by doing everything you can to not break the gaze you share.
4.The sad truth is, some things in antique shops will only look cute if you buy everything it's on display with.
5.Drying wet hair gets more obnoxious by the day. Even when I'm fat and happy on a weekend. [insert irritated head shake and eye roll here]6.An entire weekend without a cell phone is PHENOMENAL. Made me realize how much animosity I have for my phone.

but why?
So yeah. I have made three very certain conclusions. These conclusions are unfortunate and may cause some to shed one single solitary tear but are true nonetheless.
1. All good things must end someday. But why?
2. The grass is greener on the other side. But why?
3. People who gossip to you, gossip about you. But why? I'm not a 'he said, she said' gal, but still.
4. You don't know what you have until you lose it. But why?
Okay, I know I said three conclusions, but I spontaneously thought of that 4th one while typing the third one.

typing with wet nails is a good way to help them dry fast.
Just wanted to do a quick hello, much like this bear. If the blogosphere was a boat (or whatever that is. hmm) and I was a bear, this is what it would look like.
I hope you all do something worth bragging over the weekend, even if not, make something up. Sometimes what your imagination can think up is actually better than what you do. Did that sound deep? I tried.

Why on Earth is that going off on my, darling and cherished Saturday morning? ................. crap. It's Wednesday. What I would sacrifice for this morning to be a Saturday.
I want to make a list of the things that am thankful for this week:
+My bangs. I am the only girl I know with bangs and when I heard a very nasty comment about them uttered when I walked by, it made me adore them more. Take that, you P.O.S. coworker!
+My freckles. I like my freckles. I like the freckles on my face, my shoulders, my arms, etc. My freckles and I didn't get along when I was little, they made me want to run away and use some sort of magic eraser on them.
+Chocolate milk. You know when you have something delish waiting to be devoured in the fridge, but you completely forget about it until you open the fridge, feel your knees weaken and you hear birds outside your window? That happened to me today. I forgot I had it in there.
*This also happens with take out, left overs, dessert.
Things I'm not thankful for this week:
+Gas station attendants telling me when their mother OD'd. T.M.I. lady, T.M.I.
+When you find a bruise with three different colors the size of baby's head on your leg. Okay, fine maybe not a baby's, more of a small coin purse. I wish I knew how that got there. It's concerning.
+When I saw an old shirt that made me think, "There is NO way that will fit me now, that is GARGANTUAN!" only to find out it fits perfectly. Grrr.

bits of my weekend.
A special THANK YOU to Redbull for making me function like a normal human at work today. IOU.
Nine things I learned this weekend:1. You will see a bajillion yardsales when you aren't looking for one... but when you have the burning desire to go one, there is not a yardsale going on in what seems like the entire state of Utah.
2. Cheese fries will never fail to satisfy my bottomless pit I like to call, you may have heard of it, "my stomach"
3. Sometimes looking for a yardsale is more enjoyable than the actual yardsale itself. Or maybe that's just my optimist self talking.
4. You can never eat too many buffalo wings. Or honey habenero wings.
5. My life revolves too much around glorious food.
6.Sundays were made for tardy breakfasts, pajamas, couches and TVs.
7.During your lifetime, you will produce enough saliva to fill not one, but TWO swimming pools.
8.My weekend TO-DO lists never cross my mind over the weekend.
9.I still get excited when I see Leonardo DiCaprio posing on the front of a magazine cover... and I let that be the sole reason to buy it.
i got hit on by a girl tonight.
First off, I need to address something. Is there anything better than:
1. Rubbing your eyes when you are not wearing make up?
2. Cleaning your ear with a Qtip?
3. Waking up two hours before your alarm and getting giddy at the thought that is two more hours you still have as your own to sleep?
No. No there is not. ESPECIALLY #2.
So there we were. At the gym. Steve was over at the free weights and I was on the machine that curls your hamstrings. A lady in her hmmm, I would guess, mid 40's ( I will name her Enid) approaches me and stands directly in front of me.
Me: Oh, oops, did you need this?
Enid: *smiles and moves nose from left to right, saying no* You have an adorable face and such a beautiful body. Do you work out a lot?
Me: Ha, thank you. No I do not. I eat more than I move. And I hardly move....
Enid: HAHA well you are doing something right. What time of day were you born?
Me: 7 AM....
Enid: Oh! You must be a morning person! Not me, I'm a night owl, I can never sleep. How well do you sleep?
Me: (thinks in head, WTF!!) Not very well, I have a lot going on that my mind won't allow me to relax.
Enid: Do you want to come to place and see if you have luck there?
Me: No.
Enid: See you around [insert wink]
WHAT!! aljd;fkjasd;iljae;iosfja;owira3wiojawj;efBLARGY!
So after that elusive encounter, I scurry over to Steve trying to act casual, no big deal. Once I get there, I say, "Don't look now, but that lady in the purple shir....."
Steve's head snaps to the left where she was standing, staring. I put my fist to my forehead, DOH!
Me: "Steve! I told you to not look now! Now she knows I'm telling you."
Steve: "Telling me what?"
Then I proceeded to tell Steve, we laughed while we pretended like we were scratching our mouths or tying our shoes so it wasn't noticeable. We are good at pretending.
In conclusion, Enid was right. I am a morning person.

I am a morning person.

my favorite color of blue is on my finger nails.
Sunday. You were highly unsatisfactory. There is nothing I liked about you today.
Well, I tried. That was all a lie. This Sunday was one of the finest Sundays I have had in an extensive time. And let me tell you, I feel like I've hardly left the couch. Aahhh. Just how I like it. But don't you judge me. While you were all out being healthy and active... I was at home, very cozy and comfortable.
I'll keep this short.
Steve and I woke up and chatted.
Harassed each other's bed heads.
I made BB's for breakfast (BB = breakfast burritos, I love them so much, I nicknamed them).
Chatted some more.
Couch.
TV.
So if you are as puzzled as I am of my why Sunday that was overflowing of nothing and laziness was just so spectacular to me and why I felt I should share, it's cause I want to look back and say, "oh yeah, I remember that Sunday."

and now a tribute...
...to Chuck Palahniuk. [insert angelic ooo's and aaah's here] Lately, you could say that I've been obsessed. Fascinated. Intrigued. It's writers like him that make me take a good long look at myself and my writing (if you could call it that) and say, "Fail." But hey, I'm working on it. We all have to start somewhere, right?
You might know some of his books like:
Here are some of his quotes that just make me bask in his writing glory.
"Find out what you're afraid of and go live there."
"I just don't want to die without a few scars."
"I wanted to write about the moment when your addictions no longer hide the truth from you. When your whole life breaks down. That's the moment when you have to somehow choose what your life is going to be about."
"More and more, it feels like I'm doing a really bad impersonation of myself."
"People don't want their lives fixed. Nobody wants their problems solved. Their dramas. Their distractions. Their stories resolved. Their messed cleaned up. Because what would they have left? Just the big scary unknown."
"People used what they called a telephone because they hated being close together and they were scared of being alone."
"The lower you fall, the higher you'll fly."
"The only way to find true happiness is to risk being completely cut open."
"You are not a beautiful, unique snowflake... This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time."
"You have a choice. Live or die. Every breath is a choice. Every minute is a choice. To be or not to be."
See? The word you are looking for is whoa! or, incredible! or, wow! It's okay, I have goosebumps too.

for your entertainment
Wooooooooo!! WOW! It's almost a triple rainbow! So yeah, ever since I watched Double Rainbow guy, I get bits and pieces from that video snagged in my head. It's all my fault too.I'll confess. I am addicted to Youtube. I'm one of those people. But it's okay, I can stop whenever I want! ....I hope.
Alas, yesterday was Thursday, making today Friday. I wish I had some enthralling plans to brag to you all about, like, "I'm going to a wine tasting party!" or "I'm going to go whale watching and then eat a candle lit dinner in a hot air balloon." or "I'm going to eat an omelet made out of 1000 eggs." or "I'm going to be apart of a human pyramid!!"
I thought I would share with you some amusing links I use quite frequently, to help you stay entertained while wandering around the corners of the web. Naturally I sneaked some fave Youtube vids in there too. Don't you judge me.

"see you soon."
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA....... HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA Why am I laughing? Fine then, I'll tell you why I am laughing.
Just another dull morning: driving to work in silence, (I'm still mad at you, car robber!!) pull into the most revolting parking lot Utah has to offer, scan by badge dealy, take the most prolonged route to my cave and there it is. It's sitting on my keyboard. A folded up piece of white paper with a K on it and a silly face.
Me: "What is this?"
Bitter, tired co-worker: *shrugs*
Me: "Did you see anyone bring this here?"
Bitter, tired co-worker: "No, no one has been in."
Me: .......
I sit my bewildered self down, unfold the paper and little do I know my day is about to be complete at 8:30am but for all the wrong reasons. It read:
Dear Kaleena,
This is your secret crush. I wanted to type this so it wouldn't give away who I am! No fun if you knew who the person is writing this.
I like you. I like everything about you. I like youre name. I like youre hair. I like the color of youre eyes. I like youre personality. Its 1 of a kind!! I like how you look youre jeans and I like when you wear a dress. I like the way you play with youre jewlery when you are on the phone. I like when you wear youre hair curly. You are just a good looking woman and I love to look at you.
I wish I was like you, so kind. So caring. But very blunt and not afraid to speak youre mind. I can't help but think of you when i'm not around you. Time moves slow when you're not there. You are the first thing that falls into my head when I wake up, makes it easy to come to work. I see you listening to youre iPod, I wish I knew what you were listening to.
Kaleena, you are so beautiful!! I've never have seen you not looking pretty. Will I ever be lucky enough to have you? Hold you? To be the one you smile at? To talk to?
See you soon.
-secret crush
HA HA!
#1. IF I knew who you are, secret crush, the answer is no. I refuse, REFUSE to date anyone who has terrible grammar like you. It was physically painful to read that. I think my eyes bled a little.
#2 No. I have a hunky boyfriend.
#3 No again.
#4 Those were kind, sweet words, but you could not have addressed them in a more creepy, terrifying way.
#5 Thank you, thank you for making me laugh til I.... stopped.

raindrops keep fallin' on my head.
It rained today. And then it was sunny. And then it thundered. And then the sun came out. Then a boisterous thunder boomed. Rain dropped, fell, poured, sprinkled, drizzled etc.
But hey, you know your rainy day isn't a fail if when you can answer honestly that this has never happened to you:

still haven't found what i'm looking for.
#1 I am very upset at myself that I even considered using a title to a U2 song for this title, let alone USE it for the title. Shame on me! There is no love or appreciation for U2 in this girl.
+I have been sleeping terribly lately.
+I have had a sore back for about two, looooooong months.
+My car got broken into again--Tape deck abducted--Driving in silence is agonizing yet peaceful at the same time.
+One bad hair day turned into a bad hair month. Puke.
+I yawn like 30 times a day but my body won't allow me to sleep. How rude, it hates me.
+I possess a never ending list STRESS list that is disguised as a TO-DO list.
+I have to battle cheeky, ignorant and barbaric people everyday. (me: 1 them: 0)
+I hated the month of July.
But you know, life is still good.
P.S. If you are feeling stressed, up-tight, distracted... you should try drinking green tea. It is a sensational stress reliever and is has a magnitude of things to better your health. Oh and it's DELICIOUS.
Thank you for all the comments and hello to Just Add Kaleena's newest followers. It makes me feel extraordinary. In return, I made you all your favorite treat... but I ate them... cause you never showed up...... because you were at that one thing you had to go to tonight.

bits of my weekend.
Ten Things I Learned This Weekend:
1.No matter how much medicine you take, sometimes it won't kill your nasty headache.
2.Sometimes eating 4 apples in a row will cool you down faster than one popsicle.
3.Mixing nail polish color on your toes can result in some sweet lookin' toe nails.
4.Don't expect different results if you try fixing it the same way.
5.If you stay up til 4am you will wake up at 12:30pm feeling you have thrown the entire day away.
6.The movie, Just Friends, is actually kind of funny. Thank you, Oxygen.
7.Put 'eating at LoneStar' on your 'Things to NEVER do' list.
8.25cents CAN buy happiness, if you use it to buy a bouncy ball from a quarter machine.
9.Some youtube videos will never become dull. To me at least.
10.The weekends will never be long enough, Monday will always be there waiting for you, with huge open arms.

sometimes i suggest music.
Big Star - Blue Moon. Listen to it here.
The Black Keys - Tighten Up. Listen to it here.
Brandi Carlile - The Story. Listen to it here.
These songs are just two of the bajillion that have been in my ear and entertaining my eardrums this past week. It's nothing new to me, just thought I would make some unwanted suggestions.
I enjoy discovering new music. When I find new music I feel like there is a giant balloon inside me that is about to burst with joy. I get the same feeling as I do when I stumble onto an old pair of jeans only to find a 20 dollar bill hiding in the pocket... Or when you switch to an old, adored purse and find treasures in there. Score! That's the way, uh-huh uh-huh I like it! Uh-huh, uh-huh.
If you don't want me to die a little on the inside from my bland, aged music selection, you will suggest some new music to meeeeeeeee. (No, my 'e' key didn't get stuck, I just felt the urge to put that many e's). I'm in desperate need for new tunes. I'm going on week #27 of waking up with 'Octopus' Garden' clinging to the inside of my brain. Let me tell you, this was astonishing at first. [insert fist pulling elbow down to knee while hissing yes] now it is rather agitating. This is a cry for help.
