one month later.

Well, it's been a little over a month since my heart was completely broken and destroyed and ruined and any other possible awful thing that could happen to a sensitive heart like mine. But to me, it feels like it's been almost a year. I think time functions differently when you have a broken heart. I feel like everything I've ever known in the last three years was from another lifetime, or a dream. In all honesty, it doesn't even seem real.

Here is what I have learned and observed in the last month:

1. I'm starting to think the only kind of relationship I want until I am 28-30 years old is friendship.
2. Don't keep thinking about what I should or could have done differently.
3. I am so lucky to have my two older sisters to be there for me and to give me wise words.
4. Plan new things and always have something to do. Cause if I don't, then I find myself back on my bed mentally exhausting myself with thoughts of the past and probably crying, obviously.
5. Don't rush anything, I need to take my time.
6. I don't handle change so well. As in, I don't handle change well at all.
7. When people find out you are a victim of the big D (being dumped) they treat you as if you are a little puppy who has been dropped kicked. This is a very sweet gesture but when you are trying to move on, and someone keeps popping in saying "you doing okay with everything that has happened?" it is kind of hard to keep it together and not start thinking about it all over again.
8. I need to stay positive and take this whole nightmare and make it a learning experience and take this time to really figure out what I really want.
9. Even though I am still utterly hurt, Reader, you were right when you said things will only get better even though they seem like they won't.
10. Now that I am single, I see couples everywhere holding hands and riding bikes and eating ice cream cones and playing with cute little animals. And there I am, all alone, glaring at them and wishing they would fall off the bikes or the cute animals will turn against them. Jk. (maybe...)

and i quote.

And here are some quotes just because I love them.
And they are fitting for me and my life right now.
And just because I've always loved reading quotes.
Quotes!!!

please and thank you.

Right now I really want:

1. A crab feast with lemon butter to dip it in.
2. Some  breakfast for dinner. More specific: pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, and Sunny D.
3. That dog that has been howling and barking for the last 50 minutes to STOP.
4. To win the lottery.
5. To own every camera ever made with endless FREE film supply.
6. For a certain to someone to enjoy and appreciate the little things.
7. This t-shirt from Amazon.com
8. A giant bear hug.
9. A crab feast with lemon butter to dip it in. I know I already put that on this list, but you should know that's how much I really want some crab.
10. My landlord to give me free rent.
11. To win anything.
12. To not be afraid of silly things. Like the dark and odd numbers.

slurpees forever and thank you.

Dear Reader,

I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am for you and how much I appreciate you. Thank you so much for all your kind comments you leave me when my posts are me whining and crying and being overly dramatic. Thank you for reading what I have to say. Thank you for making me feel like someone actually cares about what I have to say. Really, thanks for everything, Reader. I love you. XOXO

Anyway. I have manymanymany love interests that are not.... people... or human. One of these many love interests are SLURPEES. Thank goodness 7-Elevens are littered everywhere around here so it makes it that much easier for me to get my lovely slurpees. Up until last night I thought my favorite slurpee flavor was Pina Colada or Blue-Raspberry Lemonade. But nope. I discovered something better. It has changed slurpee history FOREVERRRRR. Like how dramatic I can make anything? I am now officially announcing my new favorite slurpee flavor, as of last night: Watermelon Lime.

Mmmm. Oh yes please. I loved it so much I took a picture to you show:

And while I was uploading pictures, I decided to show you this one too, that I took on Sunday:

change of plans on my supposed day off.

Remember how I thought I didn't have to work today? Well lucky lucky me got woken up rudely by my phone buzzing. That buzzing was my boss saying:

"Hello, I will need you to come in today."

.....

.....

Waaah!! I really just wanted to keep laying in my hot apartment in my bed with the fan blowing directly in my face, but I unfortunately was needed elsewhere. At about 1:30pm I was told I could leave early and released into sweet freedom since work was so slow. Yeah, I was confused to why I was called in in such desperation when I was just going to leave early anyways. *shrugs* Oh well.

Once I got back to my apartment, I was in a mood. Not just any mood. But a CLEAN EVERYTHING I CAN SEE mood. I love when I get in these moods. I was doing the dishes, taking out the trash, straightening everything in the living room, vacuuming, cleaning the bathroom, taking a break to pull faces in the bathroom mirror, etc.

Now, here I am. Listening to Beirut and wishing I could eat these cookies. How long will it be before someone invents a way to eat something through a computer screen?

nothing better.

I went to Liberty Park on Friday with my Sisters, their husbands and kids and my Grandma and Uncle.
We rode the ferris wheel!
Question: Did you take that picture?
Answer: Yes.

I don't have to work today which to me is just sensational. Having to work when basically everyone you know doesn't, is just as bad as two people having food poisoning with only one toilet/bathroom.

this is what my apartment might look like at 3AM.

Grateful to have some friends that can keep me/themselves entertained in times of boredom and desperation, like I can.

I love them.

and now just a few things that bother me.

This time, I am dedicating this post of things that bother and annoy me and put me in cranky, irritable moods to Facebook. So, without further interruption, here are a few, teeny tiny things that bother me about Facebook.

1. My love/hate relationship with it. There really isn't anything I hate  more than Facebook, but at the same time, I still check it numerous times a day for whatever reason. However, I freaking love it because if you heard something juicy about so and so, you can totally confirm on Facebook... that's if you know how to stalk properly of course.

2. Status updates. This is mostly directed towards girls who will write a rude letter to a fellow who has just hit on them as their status. They might as well put 'I WAS JUST HIT ON CAUSE I'M SO ATTRACTIVE AND I WANT YOU ALL TO KNOW.' as their status. Eye roll.
But let me make myself clear, there is a difference between letting us know of a weird guy approaching you and you just straight up bragging that you are so hot you can't keep guys off you.

3. Duckface photos. Enough said.

So it turns out there is only three things that bother about Facebook ha ha it seemed like more in my head. But luckily, I can edit these posts so if I remember more, I can add them.

surprise!

Brunette Kaleena says, "Surprise."

a package in the mail can make a wonderful day even more wonderful.

Do you know what makes a dull day sitting at work better? When the receptionist calls you and says:
"You have a package up here..."
You know I ran fast because when I got to the front desk, I'm pretty sure I saw the receptionist hanging up the phone with me....

My Instax Mini 7 has finally made it safely to me. I named her Josie.

that one time when somebody wanted to spray paint my face on a building and hang my picture in an art exhibit.

It's my face! On the side of a building!

It's me! As an art exhibit!

You probably know i'm really not that cool. But I'm cool enough to find this website....

So yeah.

today is the day.

I've always been waaaaay too emotionally invested with the Harry Potter series.
So right now, I am feeling every possible emotion at the same time.

oh, and i got a tumblr now, too.

Go look at it.
Or don't,
whatever.

http://www.tumblr.com/tumblelog/pink-hippo

home is where you can say anything you please, because nobody pays any attention to you anyway.

I like houses.
I like admiring all the homes when I'm driving home through my neighborhood and seeing the variety of houses.
But it's not only the appearance of the houses I like.
I like wondering what the house is like on the inside.
I think it's interesting to imagine how each person chooses to make their house their home.
One day when I get a genie, one of of my wishes besides to wish for a million more genies (hee hee) will be to get to see all the houses and homes I want to.

I was walking home from the store tonight and I something became very clear to me. I've always been someone who has appreciated the little things and has been excited for the little things in life, but I realized, I truly just love everything. Everything big and everything small.

I loved the girl I saw sitting on her porch in her pink jacket that was blowing a bubble with her gum.
I loved the man who was watering his lawn as his old dog that was laying on the sidewalk.
I loved the overgrown yard that had a tire swing.
I loved the red VW bus parked on the side of the street.
I loved the rose bushes that was on each corner at the intersection on L Street and 4th Ave.
I loved walking on the sidewalk and purposely missing the cracks.

You see what I mean? I feel lucky that I can feel appreciation of the little things, and even silly things.

Wow, i'm sorry if I just corned you death with how corny this post was. Deal with it.

just another thing to want and think about.

Last night I was taken on a motorcycle ride.
And now I really really really want one.
I think I look like a girl that would have a motorcycle.

bits of my weekend.

For this week's 'bits of my weekend' I decided to attack you with several nature shots, some of my friends and a few little cows... because that is what made up my weekend.

But mostly nature shots.

This one is kind of boring. You have been warned.

Reader, thanks for reliving my weekend with me.

awesome and not awesome.

Awesome:
1. I went camping this weekend and slept in a tent and sat by the fire and roasted one marsh mellow and didn't get eaten by a bear and took pictures.
2. I still have four boxes left of my sparklers. Reader, I love sparklers and that picture down there I took of them.
3. My new Diana F+ (Dreamer) camera. Now accepting anybody who would like to send me film for this camera. If interested, please mail it to me and in return I will send you back some pictures of me being happy about it.

4. Showering after being dirty all weekend camping.
5. My Instax Mini 7 should be arriving in the mail this week.
6. Harry Potter 7 Pt 2 comes out in 4 days, 23 hours and 21 minutes. But this kind of makes me sad too, very bitter sweet Harry Potter emotions over here.

Not Awesome:
1. I have to work tomorrow.
