bits of my weekend.

Things I loved about this weekend:
+I bowled the best game of my life... not scorewise, but because I beat Steve AND his brother 2 out of 3 games. Weee! I can't stop celebrating.
+It was filled with Arrested Development. If you haven't see this, you should feel lost in the world.
+I went to my first ever hockey game. Go Grizzlies!
+I got to try Red Ginger Sushi... please go there and try the Dynamite roll. Please.

Things I did not love about this weekend:
+I tried sweet potato fries. Never. Again.
+We had to wait an hour in line to bowl.

NEVER. TRUST. A DUCK.

The duck will distract you with her adorable ducklings and then break your heart by robbing you.

i am thankful for sisters.

I am the youngest out of two Sisters. Sometimes I wish I wasn't the youngest... in the same way I wish I had an identical twin. Anyways, I am very grateful that I have two older Sisters. I went out to dinner with them last night and on the way home I was just thinking how lucky I was that I have them.

Even though we didn't always get along when we were growing up and said mean things I wish I could take back, I remember that they were always there for me when I needed someone. I remember a specific time, I was in my room with the door closed, crying (of course) and they were outside the door trying to cheer me up. They were asking me to come out and sliding notes under the door. I love them so much. We didn't have an easy childhood and I really can't picture how it would've been if I didn't have two older Sisters to be there with me.

(above) Middle Sister Shandey with her daughter, Lola.
(above) All three of us, back in 2008. Left to right, Shandey, Lacey, Me.

i yawned like 18 times today... in a row.

This is me.
This is me at Dee's.
This is me waiting for my cheese fries to come to me at Dee's.
This is what I look like when I'm pleading with Steve to give my camera back and not take my picture... while waiting for my cheese fries to come to me at Dee's.

Is it just me or does a dill pickle sound reeeeeally good right now?

So where do you live?

In the middle of nowhere. Literally.

things that bother me more than they should PART II

1. When skinny people (mostly girls) laugh at unskinny people exercising. Let them struggle and grunt in peace please!
2. Spelling the word 'exercise'. Gah.
3. When I enter a contest and don't win. Grr.
4. Being without conditioner all week and when I finally go to the store, I come home to shower only to remember that I needed to buy conditioner at the store. Heartbreaking, really.
5. The long breaks into between my paychecks. Every time I check my bank account, I can hear screams of pain.
6.The Office. It should have ended after Jim and Pam got together. The show really isn't even funny anymore.
7. How I can never remember what I'm going to say. BAHH!
8. How our neighbors upstairs sound like are re-enacting scenes from Jurassic Park.
9. That me and my hypochondriac ways are getting worse. I currently diagnosed myself with Wilson's Disease, thank you Scrubs.
10. That I only put a ten on this list so it wouldn't end on an odd number.

a muffin is a bald cupcake.

Behold! My red velvet cupcakes.

GREAT SUCCESS!

Help yourself to some, Reader. There is some milk in the fridge if you want.

heart attack.

What do you do when you want to make your own, cheap, lazy versions of Valentine decorations? Why, you go to the craft store, pick out the cutest red, pink and white patterned papers, and cut hearts out of them. Then, make them into a banner/dangly thingy to put around your home! Well, that's what I do at least. Great method so far.

Oh, and if you have just one left over, hang it somewhere that needs a little love.

don't play with your food! unless you are going to make something really cool out of it.

I'm bracing myself to make red velvet cupcakes tomorrow night. When I plan on cooking or baking anything, it takes hours... or even days of preparation. Mostly, emotionally.. but mentally, and physically too. So, as I was wandering around the internet with my hands in my pockets, whistling a friendly tune, I found these:

Do you think I'll be lucky enough to have my cupcakes even come close to these? Ha ha ha I laughed at the thought of that too, Reader.

Okay, you can stop pointing and laughing now.

Do you think technology will be so advanced we will be able to take a bite of these through the computer screen? Fingers crossed.

an old card pitter patter.

When Steve and I first started dating, I used to give him a lot of little cards. Mostly bought from the store, but sometimes I would feel creative enough, that I would attempt making a card complete with a stick figure or two and words that didn't apply to me or Steve.. but hey, they rhymed!

Last night, I was going through the box that he keeps them in, and I found one of the first ones I ever gave him:

It kind of made me want to cry a little. But then again, I cried during an episode of Scrubs...

bits of my weekend.

I loved this weekend because:
+I thought I lost my favorite pearl earrings, but I found them in our bathroom. Whew!
+I got to see both my Sisters on Friday night.
+I spent like 2 hours in my favorite book store, Sam Wellers.
+Sam Wellers played one of my favorite songs by Jefferson Airplane while I was wandering around there. Wee! I was one happy girl.
+I ate loaded potato skins. NOM NOM
+It was rainy.

I didn't love this weekend because:
+Since I didn't touch the dishes once, our kitchen still looks like they are being swallowed by them.
+I found a mini bald spot by my ear, about the size of my pinky finger print. WTF! Is that gross?
+When we were out to dinner, I went to go to the bathroom. Little did I know it was a single toilet bathroom.. So I was yanking the door handle and basically shaking the door to get in. A minute later I realized it probably wasn't a multiple toilet bathroom and was embarrassed when the girl came out. Oopsie.

This is why Uncle Frank isn't allowed to babysit anymore.

at least i tried, right?

So, I have my bangs again. surprise, surprise. It didn't even last a month. I'm pathetic when it comes to following through with things. Even things as silly as growing out bangs.

 Grr, baby. Very Grrr!! (above)
Cheeeeese!

I made dinner last night. And no Reader, surprisingly nothing smoked, burned, melted, exploded, etc. And I actually was able to eat my meal without sobbing and apologizing for the appearance and taste.

We are watching Man on Wire tonight. It's about this supposedly crazy guy who is in to walking on wires from sky scraper to sky scraper in New York. You know what doesn't sound fun to me? Walking from sky scraper to sky scraper in New York on a wire.

this is what rock bottom in the kitchen looks like.

This is a photo of what happened in our kitchen tonight.

I lost three things in the kitchen tonight:
+This spatula.
+The last of my self esteem I had with cooking.
+Our servings of hash browns.

I wish I was kidding when I said I started to cry when the smoke alarm went off.

still happy.

Even though I have been having nightmares every night,
my hair has been looking awkward cause of my long-ish bangs (ugh),
my skin is rebelling,
I left my new book at work and
Steve got a new job where he works night, leaving me here in the apartment to fight off monsters alone.

I am still happy.
