Hi, Steve. I can see you through the tree.

introducing, the christmas tree.
Nothing says Merry Christmas like a tree with a half filled DVD rack next to it. And my OCD is torturing me, I want to claw through my computer screen and close the other side of those blinds. Gaaaahh!
marry me, harry potter!!!!
I saw Harry Potter. Reader, I had goosebumps for like the first eight minutes. It was that magical. I jumped out of my seat (not really, I just got way scared and flinched really hard) a few times.
I want to make a formal and sincere apology to the movie goers who were standing in line behind me at the concessions. I turned around before I took this picture to make sure there wasn't a line... nobody was there.
I dig into my bottomless purse filled with a bunch of things I never use to find my camera--turn around-- nobody was there.
I arrange the concessions to make a pleasing-to-the eye background for my glorious Harry Potter ticket that I'll make into a locket someday---turn around--nobody was there.
Snap! Picture taken. I turn around to walk jubilantly to the theater-- there was a line of like six people.
Seriously, where did they all come from? I want to know. I'm sorry I was so annoying by taking a picture of my ticket and popcorn.
IN OTHER NEWS I got my new cell phone and I'm starting to think it's smarter than I am. Okay, not really, but it's hard to get used to. Does anyone else have Comcast? Does anyone else want to join my new club? It's called, "Comcast, I hate you." The motto is: If the Comcast automated menu/system had face, we would punch it.... I don't really know if that counts as a motto.
Seriously though Comcast, your customer service is NOT satisfactory, kthanksbye.
Speaking of Comcast, I was on the phone with them and I screamed. Not cause I was upset with them and wanting put a toothpick under my big toe nail and kick a soccer ball instead of talking to them, but because Steve left a towel hanging on the bathroom door. Do you know what a towel hanging on the bathroom door looks like in the dark when you are pacing around the empty apartment? A MAN! A BIG SCARY STRANGE MAN!
So I screamed, startled myself as well as the Comcaster dude. Maybe one day I'll be scared of real things and not a towel... on a door.

meanwhile on 2nd ave...
Reader. I am the best. And I'm about to tell you why.
Well, last night, a big, mean, brutal headache snuck up on me and... basically dominated me. I had a hard time falling asleep. I know, that has nothing to do with why I am the best.
But. This morning, (even though my head was still throbbing when I woke up) I stepped out of my warm nest that doubles as a bed early. Steve, being the handsome scholar he is, was getting ready for school.. I went out and scraped the 6 inches of snow and ice off his car.
Aren't I the best? Steve: you are welcome.

what kaleena's happy about:
+Utah beat BYU last night. I'm still overjoyed. You know how it feels when you wake up on Christmas morning? Or your birthday? Yeah, it felt like that this morning.
+I'm cuddling on the couch in a snuggie. Snuggies are probably my number one guilty pleasure. I mean, it's blanket with sleeves.
+Our Christmas tree is up! It's been making our apartment Christmas-ee since Friday. I finally got to hang candy canes on for ornaments. (I couldn't do this when I was little living with my parents cause we always had dogs. Dogs that would ruin Christmas by eating the candy canes off the tree).
[Pictures soon.. er, of our tree... not the dogs ruining Christmas].
+Chewy Gobstopers. While desperately rummaging through our pantry this morning with a crazy look in my eye for breakfast ingredients (which was not successful) I found a box of chewy gobstoppers. Not only yeah... but hell yeah!
+It's snowing. Yeah... it's snowing.
+New cell phone. I'm getting a new friend for my front pocket on Tuesday. Well, according to the Fed Ex website, I should have it on Tuesday.
We went to Bonwood Bowling last night. Normally, I wouldn't be sharing this with you Reader, because it was an atrocious night for bowling scores... but something very exciting was at the Bonwood Bowling ally. No, it wasn't the 17 year old boy who weighed 110 lbs wearing a white polo that went down to his knees with sleeves to his forearms... but it was JOHN STOCKTON! If you don't know who John Stockton is, then my heart breaks for you.
Everything from his purple polo neatly tucked into his jeans from not one hair on his head out of place. It was truly John Stockton.

UTAH WINS!!!
Utah: 17 BYU: 16
Utah beat BYU in the Holy War 2010 by blocking BYU's kick.
It was an ugly game, just hideous.
Let me tell you, I thought BYU was going to take the win....
......but they didn't!! GO UTES!
Good game though BYU, I really thought you had us.
(I'm not being sarcastic either).

i live in utah and like the winter.
I like Winter.
I do not like when you are driving while it's snowing and after you come to a stop and open the door and step out... the snow from on top of the car, drops down right on your shoulder and goes all down your shirt. Boooo!

this is what some of my thanksgiving looked like.
Meet, Jordyn. She was under the table keeping my feet warm. Every few minutes she would come out and say hello. She says hello by looking at you straight in the eyes and demanding a bite of your food.

what did you do at work today?
I started my work day by crawling.. CRAWLING on all fours over a snow pile to get into my office building. I wish this was a joke. Oh, and I was carrying a cake too. Do you ever wonder how I get myself into these situations Reader?
Shortly after I was struggling on all fours on a heap of snow, I found myself quietly whimpering at my desk with wet knees, pink hands and a face plasterd with snow flakes and shame.
Besides crawling over snow piles, I got 18 free dollars at work today. However, I'm not going to share how because you will think I am a terrible human being and say I'm going to Hell on a rocket. I didn't steal or hold anyone at gun point or anything, let's just say... there was a misunderstanding with said cake. My first thought when I got the 18 bucks wasn't to buy lunch (even though my stomach was yelling at me), early Christmas presents, or 18 jr. bacon cheeseburgers. My first thought was to lay out the 3 five dollar bills and and 3 one dollar bills and roll around... roll around and laugh evily. You do that when you have a lot of money, right?

i like snow.
Utah is getting a large blizzard tonight. The news people are calling it, Utah Blizzard 2010. But I call it Snowmageddon 2010.
Reader, I am sick. I've been sick since late Sunday night. Not the type of sick where I start...er... continue to write my will and start thinking, this will be my last Thanksgiving; but the sick where when I cough it feels like someone is shredding my lungs with a cheese grader and pumping my sinuses up with a bike tire pump.
Then, after work yesterday, Steve and I went to the grocery store and got some Theraflu, Cold-eeze, and a Neti Pot. My plan was to murder this cold, destruction!! So far, so great. For once it's:

Today I am thankful for:
+ Theraflu, the Neti Pot and Vitamin C.
+ My puffy white vest with green and brown stripes at the top.
+ This insane blizzard! So many snow angles will be made, it will be phenomenal.
+ Phone call from a best friend.
+ Having Steve as a boyfriend and roommate.
i'd like to thank... the blog-o-world!
Wow. Lucky me, I came home to three awards. THREE AWARDS!!! That's three awards that can go into my non existent trophy case. I guess I have my fingers and brain to thank for this, I couldn't have done this without them.
Oh and thank you, Confessions of a Boring Girl, The Friendliest Flower, and The Business of Creating for giving me these awards. I linked their blogs cause they are surely worth following.
Oh and thank you, Confessions of a Boring Girl, The Friendliest Flower, and The Business of Creating for giving me these awards. I linked their blogs cause they are surely worth following.
The Award's Rules:
Thank the person who gave you the award.
Tell 7 facts about yourself.
Give the award to 7 bloggers you just love.
Leave the 7 bloggers a comment telling them they won.
Seven Facts about Kaleena:
- I am terrible and listing facts about myself. I try to avoid it actually.
- I eat and drink in the shower. That's exactly what you think it means. Well, not IN the shower. I put my drink and something little, (like a yogurt, or a Poptart) out on the shelf and pop my head out to take a bite. Try it. It'll change your life.
- When I was little, I would get really really homesick at slumber parties. I was notorious for faking sick and going home in the middle of the night.
- I still sleep with a stuffed animal I got for my first Christmas.
- I don't share my drinks with ANYBODY. IF I see you drink out of my drink, I will abandon the damn thing. Seriously, don't drink out of my drink. Gag.
- When I was four years old, I got attacked by a German Sheppard and I had to get stitches in my right leg. The owner of the dog kindly brought me a stuff animal gorilla that I named "Monk Monk." Oddly, I'm still obsessed with dogs. Like, obsessed.
- I change the lyrics to the song I'm listening to and make it apply to whatever I'm doing and I'm always hungry.
- I'm making an 8th on this list because odd numbers make me lose sleep at night. My world revolves around even numbers, from the volume on TV to the amount of M&M's in my hand.

greetings from san diego!
By the time you read this Reader, I will be in San Diego. As this second I'm probably cuddling with some sort of sea animal, hopefully a Sea Lion... or perhaps an otter.
Guess what? When I Googled sea otter, it brought up this picture and the caption said, "Otterlicious" That leads me to believe there is some sort of cult that adores sea otters as much as I do.

i'm thankful for direct deposit.
You know that scene from Elf when they are eating dinner and Buddy drinks the entire liter of Coke in one chugging? Not only does that scene inspire me, but it makes me want to get in a bath tub filled with Coke. No, more than that... I want to swim laps in Coke. Reader, what I'm trying to say is, that scene makes me crave coke the same way people crave... I don't know, what is something that is universally craved? McDonalds?
I want some Coke!
So, I think babies are cute as much as any female does. Who doesn't like to see a pink blob of softness getting pushed in a stroller in an outfit that has a mess all over the front? Or tons of people all doing ridiculous things to just to get a giggle out of a tiny human they don't even know? However, I don't think the typical baby in a pumpkin Halloween costume is cute. I think a baby's fat belly is cute. I think babies glaring at me when my entertainment is only making them cry harder is cute (in a non heartless way). I think the backs of baby's heads are cute.
For example, my niece Lola:
So take that Anne Geddes!
I still want some Coke.

last night i took at nap at 7:30...
...And I just barely woke up.
Good things about being awake this early:
- Saved by the Bell is on!
- I get to enjoy my favorite part of the day morning instead of rushing to work right away.
- I no longer feel like a deflated balloon.
- Saved by the Bell is on! I know I already said that, but I love that show that much.

the boy who lived.
The midnight premier (ew, I just realized how much I hate spelling premier) for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is officially tomorrow night. Tragically, I won't be in my Hogwarts uniform costume sitting in a movie theater at midnight with a blue slurpee and popcorn waiting to stand up and cheer when the movie starts. I will be on a bus with the next best thing, the book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Touchdown Jesus!
(above) Thanks to the magic of black pants and boots, I can't tell which leg is which in this picture. One thing is for sure though, one leg definitely looks... broken.
We really liked Touchdown Jesus.
*They call that Touchdown Jesus because when you are in the football stadium, it's right behind the upright and it looks like he is doing the referee sign for 'touchdown'
Giving ourselves a tour of the campus was a definite success! The entire time we spent on campus I felt like I was living inside a postcard.

The Airports.

What to do when you are a prisoner in the Chicago airport 4+ hours....

Oh and airports are some sort of kingdom for people watchers of the world. My Utopia has been found!

The Food.
Thanks to United Airlines for closing our connecting flight's gate 10 minutes early (very unexpected this was, we're still mad for no warning!!) we spent most of Thursday in the Denver and Chicago airports wandering with heavy luggage. This meant, the majority of the food we ate on this trip was at the airport. Food is food, I didn't mind.
IIIII want candy! (da da da DA DA!)
(above) Not food, but Legends, a place where we did indeed eat.
(above) MmmmMmmmmMm. Chicken sandwich that made my life complete.

greetings from Indiana.
Indiana did a great job at surprising me... not what I was expecting at all Reader, at all. But I do like it nonetheless. Right now, I'm sitting next to the large hotel window looking down on downtown Indiana while we prepare for a 'can we rent a wheelchair to wheel us back to the hotel? I ate too much' meal at Buffalo Wild Wings, I see:
Reader, I am excited to share with you our adventure from Salt Lake City all the way to South Bend, Indiana and all the hiccups on the way. I don't even know if adventure is the correct word for what we've been through. Hmm, I'll look into that.
Oh, and remember that time I said I was a raging hypochondriac? Well, right now when my eye balls look down and look back up, I hear/feel a minuscule clicking in the back of my head... I'm thinking I'll have a seizure here at any minute......... So far to prevent it, I've exhaled really close to the window and drew a picture on the glass, I don't think that'll do much. Any suggestions? I have a problem.
- A Burger King.
- My bleak reflection in the window.
- 3 cops pulling over 1 car.
- Fifth Third Bank.
- Irish pub.
- Alphagraphics.
- Touchdown Jesus lit up over on Notre Dame's campus.
