these beds are calling me.

After looking at these pictures, I've never wanted to be in a bed more. The  more I say 'bed' the weirder is sounds. "Get your sock puppets off the bed!!" I dunno, it's just an usual word/sound to me.

i wouldn't mind having these.

I found these while browsing the internet and I think I could benefit quite nicely from all three. Especially the shoe wheel. I mean, let's be serious... I could have all the shoe racks in the world and I would still throw my shoes into the heaping giant pile in our closet. Not with the shoe wheel, nuh-uh, my shoes would either be on my feet or in the wheel. Now for the pokeys out of the wall. I feel that these should have already been on walls, on the bedroom walls at least. We could have been avoiding messing rooms for years! I just thought the picture frames were neat.

whew. all is well.

Sorry I abandoned you yesterday, blog. I'm a terrible blog owner!

So, about my mom. Long and sad story short, she went to the doctor to have her eyes checked and they found a tumor. Luckily, it's not cancerous but she will have to her eye removed and replaced with a glass eye. Still very sad but we're very grateful no cancer was found.

day 2.

Update on life without soda pop: elusive. Part of me is happy/proud/motivated and the other part is contemplative/regretful/full of temptation. At points in the day I feel great without the soda, like I never need it again and I could rule a world where pop never existed. Then the other part is meh, one pop won't hurt... after all it's just ONE POP. No, Kaleena! Bad girl. Stop counting out sixty cents for the vending machine! All in all, even though it's only day two, it has been a success so far.

"Correction does much, but encouragement does more."-Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

Also, I strategically placed my power cord between my leg and the arm of the couch and it now is working. That's the way, uh-huh uh-huh I like it! Uh-huh uh-huh. Is there a name for a talent on making broken things work after placing them in particular ways? There should be. Because I have it.

bad news on a tuesday.

Today's post will be rather depressing. I just found out some terrible news about my mother. I don't want to go too much into it until we are more informed on the situation. I'm just hoping for the best and trying to distract myself. Also, my power cord for my laptop just bit the dust. Awesome.

Here is something that helped to cheer me up.

I love you, Mom. xoxoxo

look at me, a stylish blogger!

whenever i try to go without carbonation...

...it has lasted for about thirty minutes. Soda (carbonation) is one of my best friends and I just cant cut it out my life! We have such a history. I have started countless sentences with 'starting next Monday' but for reals this time, starting next Monday (tomorrow) I will be soda pop free. I will keep you updated with how the separation is going. Goodbye pop, my thighs will miss you... and now when I wave goodbye maybe my hand will be the only thing moving instead of my entire arm.

Here goes.Wish me luck.

i just discovered something magnificent...

..to feed on my passion for mini things!! So, there I was, doing my weekly grocery shopping at Smiths. I look down into my basket full of yogurt, Special K cereal, apples, eggs, string cheese and bagel bites. I think to myself, I can't walk outta here with all this healthy stuff (minus the delicious bagel bites), so I stroll on over the frozen section with ice cream on the brain. And then there they were. Mini Haagen Daas ice creams. I couldn't help myself. They were 10/10.00.... luckily I held strong for that deal and just settled for two. But that's not the best part. The inside of the lid comes with a mini spoon! Is that not just adorable? Again, I am getting way too excited over something so silly.

another lazy sunday at our place here on R street.

I have a love/hate relationship with Sundays. This has been ongoing for many years. Let me tell you why:

Reasons why I love them:
-I get to be even more lazy than I already am.The most movement I get is when I'm walking to the kitchen.
-Everything seems more relaxing than any other day of the week.
-The streets & stores are completely dead. When living in Utah on a Sunday, you tend to be the only person out and about if you don't go to church.
-There are some awesome and addicting TV show marathons on TV.
-Great day to start and finish a book.
-Nice day for a long walk.
-I get most of our laundry and cleaning done.
-I reorganize and clean out our closet.
-Get caught up on videos on Youtube. (if you want to see my new favorite and pretty funny Youtube video, click here).

Reasons why I hate them:
-Work starts again the next day.

mug shots.

I don't know when or how it happened, but I now somehow have a new-found fetish for coffee mugs. I am a collector of little odds and ends that typically don't have any good use except for sitting in our house...on the shelf...collecting dust. I fear when I am around 60 years old I will have a hoarder house... I should probably anticipate that and seek help now. Now that coffee mugs are my next victim to obsess over, I don't think it is helping my current situation. Check it.

i love books. but i have never thought of them like this

These old, dusty books that have had their share of being read have found a new, creative way to be used! They all look so easy and I feel so silly for not even thinking of this myself. They can be made into lampshades, picture frames, floating bookshelves, necklaces, clocks and purses. I think I may have found a project for next week...

P.S. Did I really blog 47 times in April already? I think I have a problem. But it's okay, I can quit anytime I want to... I'm in control.

yesterday was thursday, so that means today is....

FRIDAY!

I drive past this sweet archway everyday so I finally decided I should stop being so lazy, stop & get out of my car and take a picture. So there you have it.

Ya know when you are driving and approaching an intersection and the light suddenly turns yellow? And you can't decide if you want to try to speed up and make it through or try and stop, so you try doing both and fail miserably at both? Yeah... that happens to me more than I would like to admit. Like today.

On that note, have a relaxing and stress-free weekend!

what else is there do on a thursday night?

I've been playing with this for the last twenty minutes. Someone help me.

Also, I'm sure you might have seen this article already, seeing as I have seen it months ago but I still crack up when I read it. It makes me put on my LOLler skates and go down to the ROFL waffle house. Just pretend that made sense... if you are enlightened in the 'terms for laughing slang' world, you just might laugh at that sentence. .................MOVING ON to the funny article I mentioned.

i would get great use out of some of these

This bumper sticker is awesome. I need a bajillion of these. All you need to do is slap one of these on the back of a car that belongs to a person who shouldn't have the driving privilege if they are going to park obnoxiously. Raise your hand if you hate those people who can't park like a normal human and ruin it for the rest of us. I'm certainly raising my hand.

Seriously, if you want some, get some. Here

and now it's time for a joke

I have the worst taste in jokes. I'll admit it. I like the silly ones that don't even deserve to be called a joke. The ones that people will ask, "was that from a Laffy Taffy wrapper?" I act total oblivious, when really that is indeed exactly where it is from.

The other day I accidentally made up a joke. How you make up a joke on accident? I'm not sure, but I did it, and I did it well.

Are you ready?

What did the cat say when he RSVP'd to a party he did not want to attend?

...

COUNT MEOW!

just add kaleena's first award!

Today wasn't just an ordinary day. Today is the day my little blog, just add Kaleena, won her first award!

There are some rules I'm supposed to follow like passing it along, but I am planning on doing that tomorrow. I would like to thank we can be tall as grass for the nice surprise! I would also like to thank blogspot for giving me a place to blog and share the mess that is going on in my head.

if all the raindrops were lemon drops and gum drops...

It rained today. I'm not picky with weather, so I honestly don't care if it is sunny/rainy/snowing/windy. After living in Utah for twenty years, I've learned you can't really be picky when it comes to weather. However, rain happens to be my favorite. As for the wind? The wind and I were friends once, but not anymore... It knows what it did.

This is what I woke up to:

Then about two hours later it looked like this:

Speaking of rain, do you know what two songs are pretty F'n awesome?
-Who'll Stop The Rain? - Creedence Clearwater Revival
-Have You Ever Seen The Rain? - Creedence Clearwater Revival

They are probably on the top 10 on my favorite 13,246,166 songs.

love of my life #422 - wedge shoes.

My most favorite type of shoe in the whole wide world is wonderful wedges. That was a whole lotta W's in one sentence. I love them over flats, heels, boots, sandals, slippers, etc. Wedges are the one shoe that I will sacrifice a week of meals, my firstborn (if I had one), if I find a pair I must have. Here is my technique to see if the wedges are indeed a must have: if I go home without them, kick myself every four minutes for not getting them and when I get back to the store and my size is STILL there, it's a done deal. We were meant for each other.

I went in my cave that I like to call a closet to take one picture of my favorite pair of wedges. It turned into four different pictures. Proof of my love of wedges. These are my favorite of what I own:

Here are some I hope will be added to my family soon:
