how to be human for dummies.

I went to the good ol' Salt Lake City Library last night. Mainly because I found out that if you move and they find out they don't have your updated address they just expire your card. Seems dumb to me. So I went with my proof of new address and now I am happy with a valid library card once more. The end. Oh wait, no, there is more.

Before I left I asked Lou, my bunny, if he wanted anything from the library. He didn't respond. So I said, "do you want me to get you 'How To Be A Human For Dummies'"? ... still no answer... So then I said, "how about, 'How To Speak English or Make Any Sounds At All?"

Long story short, he's spending his day today reading.

PS - If they really have a book on how to be a human for dummies, that's a book I would need to read.

having a library card is fun.

A long, long time ago in a world that I still currently live in... my wallet was stolen. And it was an event that I will never forget. Not only because I lost my drivers license, my social security number, my debit card, my library card, every movie ticket stub I've acquired since 2005... but because I was more upset that I lost every movie ticket stub I've acquired since 2005 more than all the things that make up my identity.

I eventually got over it.

Jk, no I didn't. I still am sad that I lost them. RIP wallet.

So since all that jazz was stolen from my life, I had to replace everything. I just barely got around to getting my new library card and the guy who issued it, said I had an outstanding balance on it from a book I checked out in 2009.

My first thought was....

Oh dear. It's probably going to be close to $1,000 by now.

But it wasn't. Guess how much? GUESS.

$6.40

So I paid it and me and my library card are living happily ever after.

Oh, and I found out today that you can make an account online with the Salt Lake City library system and see what books you have out, what books you have on hold, wishlists and they will even recommend books to you.

Awesome! Libraries are fun. And having a library card is even more fun. Yay.
