baking is fun when you don't suck at it.

My sister has an easy recipe for those pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. It only has three ingredients which is just wonderful news for people like me who struggle and have zero skills in the kitchen.

[The three ingredients are a box of spice cake mix, medium can of pumpkin, and chocolate chips. Pour in bowl. Mix. Cook for 12-14 minutes. Boom. You got some cookies.]

My sister said I had to get the medium can of pumpkin. When I got to the store I could only find a small-ish looking one and a huge one. She didn't answer when I called to get to the bottom of the confusion so I asked the nice old lady who was also shopping in the baking aisle. She was so nice and sweet and helpful. She gave me some baking tips (that I already forgot haha) but anyway, I like when people are that nice and helpful to strangers.

And then I came home, make the cookie dough, ate half of it, and baked the rest.

Just now, I stretched my hands out and looked at them while I thought of what else I was gonna say on here and my pinky on my right hand is shaking and quivering at a rate where I should probably be concerned. To WebMD I go....

change of plans on my supposed day off.

Remember how I thought I didn't have to work today? Well lucky lucky me got woken up rudely by my phone buzzing. That buzzing was my boss saying:

"Hello, I will need you to come in today."

.....

.....

Waaah!! I really just wanted to keep laying in my hot apartment in my bed with the fan blowing directly in my face, but I unfortunately was needed elsewhere. At about 1:30pm I was told I could leave early and released into sweet freedom since work was so slow. Yeah, I was confused to why I was called in in such desperation when I was just going to leave early anyways. *shrugs* Oh well.

Once I got back to my apartment, I was in a mood. Not just any mood. But a CLEAN EVERYTHING I CAN SEE mood. I love when I get in these moods. I was doing the dishes, taking out the trash, straightening everything in the living room, vacuuming, cleaning the bathroom, taking a break to pull faces in the bathroom mirror, etc.

Now, here I am. Listening to Beirut and wishing I could eat these cookies. How long will it be before someone invents a way to eat something through a computer screen?

"maybe we should put the smoke detector back up when you are done cooking dinner...."

....said Steve after my dinner cooking set off our smoke alarm. (Sorry upstairs and downstairs neighbors, didn't mean to send you in a sweaty panic). If my cooking self esteem was a bruise with a deep, wide cut in the middle of it... well, Steve just sprinkled some salt in it. A lot of salt. Ouch.

I made a freakyawesomewickedhoppingcrazyrunningdelicious comeback when I made chocolate chip cookies. Reader, you won't believe the tiring effort that went into making these cookies. First off, I had to cut open the package. Yeah, I know, I thought it was tear open too. Whew. Then, I had to place the already shaped cookie dough onto a baking sheet. Lastly, oh finally, I had to wait a lasting ten minutes.

Look, unintentionally a heart cookie was made. For Steve, of course.
