some of the worst things ever.

Here is a little list I made of the things that I think are the worsts things ever. Reader, if I know you (and i'm pretty sure I do) you will agree with most.

1. When you mean to buy normal mascara and you get home to see you bought WATERPROOF.
2. When you are out of conditioner and you keep meaning to go get some and when you finally do... you get home and realize you really are an idiot and see you bought shampoo.
3. When you see a ran over bunny on the road... and realize it's the same bunny you've seen every day for the last two weeks. :( R.I.P. Cute Bunny.
4. Being hungry.
5. Being awkward.
6. September 11th. I watched so many documentaries yesterday on September 11th and my heart is still broken.
7. #6 brings me to #7. Terrorists.
8. Grumpy people.
9. When you remember that you will never see the Doors perform live.
10. The fact that it is 2012 and some people still aren't treated equally.
11. When your debit card falls out of your back pocket and lands in the toilet.

Some things that aren't the worst things ever:

1. When you run out of shampoo and conditioner at the same time!
2. When you order something from Amazon and it comes in the mail.
3. Sugar free RedBull.

professional sleeper.

I take my sleeping pretty seriously because it's one of my favorite things to do.
And on a Saturday or Sunday morning, I like to wake up (kind of early so that means 8 or 9)
eat a bowl of cereal and go back to bed.
Because going back to bed after eating breakfast provides a sleep
that feels like no other sleep
and it's the best.

monday nothingness.

Fact:
I haven't seen the movie The Sixth Sense in like 10 years. But for some reason last night when I was trying to fall asleep, the only thing I could think about is all the scary scenes from that movie. My brain sucks sometimes. As in always.

Update:
I'm supposed to be getting my car back today and I am EXCITED. I have been missing my car and have big plans to clean it. Like, CLEAN clean it. I'm excited.... like i've already mentioned. I have a feeling that when I'm done cleaning my car i'll be in one of those moods where I'll want to clean the whole world.

Grateful for:
My dad for helping me out with my car finances. Very grateful indeed. I'm also grateful for my mom just because.

Another fact:
How hot has this summer been? The answer to that is too damn hot. Ugh.

Thought:
I can't beleive July 2012 is almost over. Sometimes I still think it's 2011. Whhaaaa.

Useless info:
So when I was at the Reel Big Fish concert on Saturday, they mentioned they have been around since 1991. In my head I thought, whoa, that's like ten years.... but then I ACTUALLY thought about it and realized that is TWENTY years. 1991 (or the 90's in general) seems like it was just a few years ago but it sure wasn't. Anyway, I was trippin. I always think of 2005 or 2002 and think those years are still fresh and new, but they aren't. And now I'm old.

i can't believe i am almost 23...

Just a few things...

1. I wish it was Wednesday. Because if it was Wednesday, I would be getting paid. And I really really really really (adding a fifth really) REALLY need to get paid.

2. I am setting a mini goal for myself this week. It is: to work at least 9 hours a day. I know that sounds lame and silly and there are much bigger goals I could be setting... but I need some extra dough (see thing #1 above) and work has been so slow that I've been only getting 6-7 hours. So this week I will make myself stay for 8 or 9 hours.

3. My birthday is next Monday. CELEBRATE good times, COME ON!

4. I woke up with probably the worst... really, the WORST migraine I've yet to have in this life. But after suffering, I tried putting some ice on my neck and it worked really well. So the next time you have a headache or migraine that will make you want to die, try putting some ice on  your neck and it will help.

5. One of my biggest annoyances in life is when people have the TV up loud. Ugh. I hate it.

6. I have been trying to wear my hair with the middle part and I liked it at first but with each passing day, I'm thinking no. It's gotta go back to the side part.

7. I love finding home made natural remedies for things. Like, if you want to fade acne scars? You just rub lemon juice on them. Or if you want to make your skin look healthy and glowy, just rub chamomile tea on it. Yay!

hahaha.

Nothing is funny. I just didn't know how to start this off.  I want to clean the kitchen and tidy up a bit around here but I know that's now gonna happen right now so I'll just blog.

Right now I am going to talk about marriage. I am nowhere near marriage and have no experience in the marriage department... so what better person to discuss it, right? Ha ha I am dumb. So here goes...

My view on marriage is really simple. I think people should marry the person they love when the time is right for them. I really dislike how society and the media portrays marriage these days. They make it seem like once you get married your life is over and the unhappiness begins and it will end in divorce anyway. Hearing people say this just breaks my hopeless romantic heart.

Pretty much, I think your marriage is what you put into it. If you want a happy, loving, exciting marriage then you are going to have to put that exact effort into it. But if you think marriage is the end of your "life" and nothing great happens after you are married, then that will probably happen and you shouldn't be getting married. I understand that some marriages have really tough issues that have no other choice but to be resolved by divorce but I don't like hearing people talking as if divorce these days are inevitable. Relationships aren't 50/50, they are 100/100. Relationships are hard work and require a daily effort, as long as both people in the relationship are willing to put in that effort, it can be a happily ever after.

As for the people who think "life is over" once you say "I do" is just ridiculous. You have control over what you do in your life and in your free time and in the marriage/relationship. If you still want to do fun things after you are married then do them. Marriage doesn't have to be "yours" and "mine", it is about compromise and making things work.

Again, I have no experience in this stuff, these are just my thoughts. Just please don't tell me that marriage is useless and you will just get a divorce anyway. It will make me cry.

pizza parties!

In sad news: I have not attended or have been invited to a pizza party since probably the 4th grade. But I was thinking today of how awesome and exciting pizza parties were/are. When you would be sitting in class and then the teacher would walk in with 3-4 boxes of pizza... that is the universal sign that the pizza party has officially begun and we would all go into a pizza crazed frenzy.

I think I am going to start throwing more pizza parties. It's not going to be just a thing for elementary students who behaved well for a whole week.

breath in and breath out.

Stress.

Stress could be the story of my life.

When some people are stressed, they: eat, get grumpy, drive around, yell, do drugs, run, write etc.

What do I do? I usually drive around or cry. I hate the days when I get so stressed out that I end up crying.

But it helps.

things i know.

Thing 1. If you don't make snacks to eat while you are making dinner then all that means is that is one thing you don't have in common with me and you are probably in better shape than me. So there you go. I like to call it my pre-dinner. Sometimes I'm just too hungry to wait for my dinner to cook! So that's when I started doing pre-dinner.

Thing 2. If you keep changing lanes in bumper-to bumper traffic, it will not get you to your destination any faster. I watch idiots do this every day on my commute to and from work. They are the ones who slow the flow. And also cause my anxiety while driving. Reader, if you happen to see me throwing things out my car window, you'll know this is why.

Thing 3. When you want time to crawl, it will do the complete opposite. When you want the time to be super speedy fast, it will go slower than a turtle hiking up a caramel hill.

Thing 4. Sometimes, nothing can satisfy your belly like some good old fashioned toast.

Thing 5: I think the #1 cause of making people join anger management these days is the internet. Not the content of the internet, but comment sections like on Youtube, Facebook, Blogs, etc. My newest form of entertainment is to just read comment sections of things and it causes some healthy laughter. People are so angry these days.

wait...what?

I saw a woodpecker in the parking lot of my work today.
I've never seen one and honestly wasn't expecting to see one at work let alone in the winter.
I tried taking a picture but as soon as I got my camera out, the bird flew away.
Animals never cooperate.
So I found this image on the internet.
Replace the leaves with snow and this is basically what I saw.

Also, I've noticed the the most common phrase in my vocabulary is... "wait... what?"

Want to know how it was a slow/boring day in the life of Kaleena? Because the only thing I came up to post is a bird that I saw. Ha.

expectations vs reality.

What I wish would have happened today:
-Wake up comfortably warm in my bed without a pounding migraine.
-Go to the basketball game.
-Not get my jeans and shoes soaking wet from the snow.
-Go to Barnes and Noble and spend hours browsing the books.
-Walk around town and take pictures of all my favorite places covered in snow.

What really happened:
-Woke up in my bed all kinds of crazy-sweaty hot with a pounding migraine.
-Went to the basketball game but didn't enjoy it cause of the migraine.
-Got my jeans and shoes soaking wet because of the snow. This is the worst part of winter.
-Didn't go to Barnes and Noble and spend hours there.
-Didn't walk around town and take pictures of all my favorite places covered in snow.
-Went to sushi with my sister.

What is the lesson that we learned by reading the difference between these lists? That migraines DO in fact ruin everything.

what's going on in my life part 3.

Update #1 - Bad hair days. Have you not had a bad hair day in a while? Well, don't worry, it's probably because I have been having them for everyone on the planet. Yes, I do know that there are larger issues in the world to be concerned about, but honestly, my hair is behaving in ways I didn't know hair could. Part of me is honestly impressed that my hair is capable of doing what it's doing.

Update #2 - I've been dreaming about ice cream lately. I'm confused why I was dreaming of ice cream considering I don't really like it and it makes me cough and cough and cough. And cough. According to the handy-dandy internet that I would surely die without, this is what it means to dream of ice cream:

To see or eat ice cream in your dream denotes good luck, pleasure, success in love and satisfaction with your life. You need to savor the moment and enjoy it.

Update #3 - I've been watching the Friend Zone on MTV. Basically, it is a show where two (male and female) people are BFF's and one has strong feelings for the other. They eventually share their deep feelings for them and pour their hearts out to them in hopes to take the relationship to the next level. Some say yes (wahoo!) some say no (eff that). If I poured my entire heart and soul to my BFF in hopes to be his girlfriend he said "no we are just friends, you are in the friend zone." I would retaliate by putting him in the dead zone. Ha. Not really, but who knows.

Update #4 - Saw this picture of this girl and it made me really miss my bangs. I came this close to cutting them. But instead I just put the scissors down and ran away...

kaleena then, kaleena now.

Hi hi hi!

So, pretty much, if I could go back in time and do anything I wanted, I would go back to like, fifth grade and write myself a letter to myself to read in the future. Just a letter to myself saying what I would wish for my future self at age 22.

Since I didn't think of this idea back then, probably because I busy collecting Pokemon cards and making my Leo book (a book made up of Leonardo DiCaprio magazine clippings) I am only left to wonder what fifth grade Kaleena would have put in that letter. And here are a few things that would probably come up:

Fifth grade Kaleena would want present day Kaleena to...

Be married to Prince Eric from Little Mermaid.

Living in California. (I was obsessed with California back then).

Owning a pet hospital where I was a veterinarian.

I'd be driving this purple Eclipse. My fifth grade dream car.

Being a mom of six kids. Yes, once upon an insane time, I used to want six kids.

Well, fifth grade Kaleena would've been severely disappointed because right now 100% of what she wanted in fifth grade is 100%  close to not happening. In fact, the only thing I still want is to be married to Prince Eric from Little Mermaid.

just an old fashioned blog post.

This post would have been brought to you 40 seconds sooner, but I just spent the last 40 seconds choking. I guess I ate that E.L. Fudge cookie too fast and drank a sip of water even faster. This resulted in me involuntarily spitting it out and continuous coughing.

I am fine now though.

I bought some new face moisturizer at the store and I'm now super excited to shower tomorrow morning. I love trying to new face wash, shampoos, etc. It makes me feel giddy. And me feeling giddy over trying new face stuff makes me feel silly.

So if you see me tomorrow with a new looking, glowing face, just know the new face moisturizer worked.

Goodnight.

I want a steak.

Oh, the guy from apartment #1 (the apartment below us) moved out today. I feel kind of bad, I feel like it mostly our fault because we are known to drop things often, bounce toy bouncy balls, and wear our shoes on our hardwood floors. I already feel sympathy for the person who moves in.

Goodnight for real this time.

awesome and not awesome.

Awesome:
1. Monday off of work. MLK, you the man.
2. Freshly painted nails.
3. Waking up to lots and lots of snow.
4. Grape soda.
5. Memes. If you don't know what a meme is, go here: quickmeme.com
6. Babies.
7. Eating cooking dough.
8. These shoes I really want!
I know that looks like a baby shoe, but it's not.

Not awesome:
1. When my favorite long gold necklaces gets snagged and broken.
2. The ghost that I think is living in the apartment, ruining my sleep one night at a time.

some dance to remember, some dance to forget.

Question:

Kaleena, what are you bad at?

Answer:

Well, everything. But mostly, I get inspired on an hourly basis and I am awful at acting on the inspiration in the way that I just don't know how. So it all goes to waste.

Question:

Is there a better feeling than painting your finger and toe nails after weeks of staring at the sad remains of the nail polish that hadn't chipped away yet when you were sitting somewhere bored?

Answer:

Basically... no.

Question:

Could you be more thrilled that the weekend starts tomorrow?

Answer:

Absolutely not.

Question:

Why are you still awake and not in bed?

Answer:

Because the internet happened, that's why.

Question:

Do you freaking love the internet and all the silly videos and pictures on it that make you laugh so hard you have to hang up the phone?

Answer:

Freaking yes!

Question:

Did you just give yourself a Q & A?

Answer:

Definitely.  Because I am crazy.

the storm.

"And once the storm is over you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, in fact, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about."

pretty please.

Tonight, I am really wishing that my laptop would not be idiotic and let me put my memory card in it to upload my photos that I have taken over the last three months. I really miss the days when I could take a picture of something pretty or ugly or funny or stupid and put it on my blog to remember forever. But now I can only do it from my phone camera. And my phone camera is not the kind of camera you want taking all your photos you want to remember forever.

One day, when I can upload my real photos, there is going to be an overload of photos. A photopocalypse. Get ready.

why dogs make me happy.

How many Butterfingers can you eat before you get sick of them or feel nauseous in the tummy? I don't have that answer for you Reader, because I just ate a whole bag of mini Butterfingers in two days and I did not get sick of them nor feel sick myself. And if you are judging me for eating all those Butterfingers, I just do not care because Butter fingers are awesome. Not my number 1 choice, but still awesome.

Up until this point in my life, I'm pretty sure my #1 love/interest/passion/hobby/obsession in life is: DOGS. I'm being 100% honest when I say I could watch dogs play for 24 hours straight and I would not become bored once.

So where did this post come from? Well, when I got home from work today, the Beagle dog that lives across the street from my apartment building was wearing a hat. A HAT. Everyone should get to see a Beagle wearing a hat sometime in their life. That simple thing made me so happy.
