adventures in babysitting.

Tonight I got to babysit my niece, Lola. Here is the sweet baby girl:

I would tell you all the funny things she did to make me laugh, but most times people don't think those stories are funny unless you are the parents. So I will spare you and you won't have to give me any courtesy laughs.

IN OTHER NEWS: When I was driving to my sister's house, I saw a semi truck tipped over on its side on the freeway! So if you thought you had a bad day, just think, you could've been a truck driver who tipped over a semi truck on the freeway.

i'm thankful for direct deposit.

You know that scene from Elf when they are eating dinner and Buddy drinks the entire liter of Coke in one chugging? Not only does that scene inspire me, but it makes me want to get in a bath tub filled with Coke. No, more than that... I want to swim laps in Coke. Reader, what I'm trying to say is, that scene makes me crave coke the same way people crave... I don't know, what is something that is universally craved? McDonalds?

I want some Coke!

So, I think babies are cute as much as any female does. Who doesn't like to see a pink blob of softness getting pushed in a stroller in an outfit that has a mess all over the front? Or tons of people all doing ridiculous things to just to get a giggle out of a tiny human they don't even know? However, I don't think the typical baby in a pumpkin Halloween costume is cute. I think a baby's fat belly is cute. I think babies glaring at me when my entertainment is only making them cry harder is cute (in a non heartless way). I think the backs of baby's heads are cute.

For example, my niece Lola:

So take that Anne Geddes!

I still want some Coke.

photo of the day #55

The lion hates his life. The baby wishes he ate his vegetables the first time his parents asked.
