zZzZzZzzzzzZZZZzzz.

I don't know why but all I know is I am really tired these days. It's not that sleepy feeling where you feel like you need a quick nap, but it's the feeling where your whole entire body feels exhausted and you have to drag yourself around. I think I need to eat more vegetables.  Usually, I stay up until 2-3AM (even on weekdays because I'm stupid and can't grasp this is never a good idea) but lately, I'm in bed by 11PM.

And it feels great.

I love being in a warm bed just to sleep and lay and be comfortable. I think I have successfully moved from being a "home body" to a "bed body" ... my social status is only getting worse from here. I should probably care.

Oh and I don't have work tomorrow. I LOVE PRESIDENTS!

truth.

Today I had a tough time getting out of bed. By the time my alarm went off I knew I was not ready to take on the day. I set the sound of my alarm to a rooster... probably the worst decision I've made this week. Waking up to an alarm is alerady the worst... but waking up to a fake URR-URURRRR is even worse. Sorry my rooster impression is so terrible. I felt waaayyyy too lazy to even think about the task of dressing myself. After laying there for ten minutes, I decided I had to get up and not be so lazy and tired. It is now 3:00pm and I'm still wishing I was home in bed. It's just one of those days where nothing comes close to the appeal of a nice, soft, comfy bed.

Now here are some really great and true quotes... all by Jonathan Safran Foer.

“The only thing more painful than being an active forgetter is to be an inert rememberer.”

"I am doing something I hate for you. This is what it means to be in love.”

“The only way to overcome sadness is to consume it. ”

“I was of the opinion that the past is past, and like all that is not now it should remain buried along the side of our memories.”

Can we please talk about how brillian Jonathan Safran Foer is? Ugh. Probably my #2 favorite autor. Chuck Palahniuk is obviously my #1. Forever. Also, it took me forever to remember how to spell his last name correctly without looking it up.

So, since I'm entirely obsessed with the thought of my bed today.. I am going to go home, get in my bed and start reading Everything is Illuminated. Which is by Jonathan Safran Foer. Woo.

a method i am willing to share.

I am telling you right now, I know I am probably not the first person to have this idea. I know that I'm not the first person to think it was valuable enough information to put on a blog. But I also know I don't care, so here we go.

You know that really great, sensational feeling when you flip over your pillow when you are in bed? And suddenly your face and arm (kind of) is just overwhelmed with the coolness of the fresh side? And you just want to burrow your face into it and never leave? I'm going mmmmmmmm just thinking of it. Well, I recently discovered a way to take that to the next level.

With blankets.

Here is what you do.

Get the blanket you sleep with. Or just any blanket, I don't care. Find a wall in your house/apartment/condo/attic space/pent house/cupboard-under-the-stairs that is an "outside" wall... meaning the other side of it is the outside. In the morning, loosely roll the blanket up and lay it on the floor by the outside wall. Come bed time, hurry and get the blanket and cover yourself up in it. It's the cool pillow feeling but all over. Oooh yeaaah.

I will warn you, this cool pillow all over feeling leads to great disappointment, only because it lasts for no more than two minutes. Then you are just laying there with a room temperature blanket. But it is worth it. I do this every day. This is my life.

Obsessing over.... my new cool (literally) blanket technique.
Thinking about.... how I have to pee but I'm waiting til I'm done with this to go. Sorry, TMI.
Anticipating.... going to the library tomorrow to replace my library card. I have to get a new one since some jerk stole mine. Who steals library cards? They are FREE.
Working on.... a creative way to hang up my polaroid/Instax pictures around the apartment.
Listening to.... my neighbors upstairs repeatedly drop what I can only guess is a lawnmower.
Eating.... nothing right now. Thanks for reminding me.
Wishing.... I could stop being a procrastinator. Once and for all! I'll start working on this tomorrow...

a week of rain.

I started my day this morning by laying in my bed before the alarm clock went off. Now that I think about it... technically, that's how all my days start... so I should say, I started it by laying in bed AWAKE before the alarm clock went off with my arms folded behind my head and staring up at my ceiling. For no good reason I slept opposite in my bed last night (my feet where my head usually is and my head where my feet usually are).

I laid there, staring at the ceiling, listening to the rain. Dreading the second when I would hear my alarm clock yelling and barking at me to start the day. I wanted [so very badly] to call in to work today and tell them I would not be in today. If they asked why I would say something like... I was nailed to the floor and it would be an all day thing to get me un-nailed from the floor. I don't know. That fantasy lasted for like 2 minutes.

I didn't want to do today. And I thought if I was able to lay in my bed all day that then maybe the day wouldn't really happen. I wanted it so badly to be one of those days.

Alas, my alarm clock barked at me, I forced myself out of my throne... er... bed, I went to work and now I am finally home. And the day wasn't even bad. I mean, how could it be when I had not one, but TWO bags of Peanut Butter M&M's from the vending machine?!

And here is this, just because I like it's truth:

photo of the day #28

Don't you hate it when all you want in life is to sleep in your bed but there is a dinosaur already in it?
