seattle was a blast.

Well, I am back from Seattle. And Reader, as you probably guessed, I now love Seattle and want to live there. Will I ever go to a city that I won't want to move to? While San Francisco is my #1 all time favorite city and always will be, I can picture myself living in Seattle more than San Fran.

Our hotel was right next to the Space Needle! Seeing a landmark like that is always exciting... but I was even more excited because Invisible Monsters is one of my favorite books and they go there in that book. So while I was at the Space Needle I kept picturing that part in the book. Exciting stuff.

We did the normal touristy stuff. And I especially loved how everything was walking distance. We didn't need a cab once. It was pretty chilly, but I didn't care.

We:
-Saw the Space Needle.
-Went to the top of the Space Needle. Whooooa talk about butterflies.
-Went to the EMP Museum. But I can't remember what EPA stands for... ( a cool music museum )
-Walked around the city.
-Walked through Pikes Market.
-Rode the Monorail.
-Ate the best grilled cheese sandwich of my life. The bread was French toast. OH YUM.
-Saw Utah football lose to Washington :(
-Saw the gum wall. Which is equally exciting as it is disgusting.
-Put some gum on the wall.

Here are (just a few because I'm stupid and left my real camera at home. duh) pictures of the trip.

Space Needle
Me with a kind of mustache
 Gum wall. Ew. But awesome.
Me putting gum on the Gum Wall
And YES. That is the guitar the JIMI FREAKING HENDRIX played at WOODSTOCK. I can't believe I was that close to it. It was insane. But really cool.

LA trip 2011

Remember how we went to L.A. California in September 2011? And remember how I took more pictures of L.A. than parents do of their child's first day of kindergarten? But I wasn't able to upload them since my laptop wouldn't let me? Well Steve is letting me use his computer to store all my photos now. So I finally can show my photos from L.A. I only chose my favorites.

(above) That is me so not looking like a model. I do look learpy though. Yay!

26 hours.

Guess how long it took to get to San Francisco on a bus? 12 hours.
Guess how long it took to get back home from San Francisco on a bus? 14 hours.
26 hours total were spent on a bus traveling to and from San Francisco.
26 hours later and we are back in Utah.
I'm happy to be home but not happy that I will be at work tomorrow and no longer in San Francisco.
The worst part about a trip/vacation, is the part where you have to come home and not be on it anymore.
I had a fun time though, I have pictures to prove it. I didn't want to leave.

going back to the city where i left my heart two years ago.

By the time you read this, I will be on a bus, riding to San Francisco. I won't be just riding to San Francisco... but I will be riding to my favorite city in the United States... riding to the place I picture myself living someday... riding to the place I have already been twice and am still excited to go a third time. I'm pretty sure it's the coolest city in America.

Can't wait to get there! Reader, I will pick you out the most awesome souvenirs, you'll want to show them off to your friends and family.

one bus ride later.

On Thursday night, we stepped onto a bus in Salt Lake City and fifteen hours later, we were stepping off that same bus in L.A. It was only supposed to be eleven hours but the bus had some issues. A lot of people think an eleven to fifteen hour bus ride sounds frightful and daunting but I truly enjoy long rides. Plenty of time to stare out the window and think, listen to music, talk and watch the guy across the aisle on the bus with pretzel crumbs on his shirt sleep with his face jammed against the window. I have more pictures to show you prove to you that I really was in L.A than your parents have of you on your first day of school standing in front of the fireplace. but right now, I wanted to give you a short list of some things that happened on the way there, there, and the way back.

+Bus breaks down. Obviously.
+I slept on the floor on the bus and used a roll of paper towels for a pillow. I don't know what it means that it was probably one of the best nights of sleep I've ever slept.
+There was a guy on the bus who looked like Jim Morrison. Hair and all. Oh yeah.
+I found an 'Elvis Presley Blvd' keychain at a gas station.
+The walk from our hotel to Venice Beach was soo far that the bottom of my place have been replaced with blisters.
+I think our hotel room was haunted. Unless all hotels in California have yawning noises coming from the closet at 3AM.
+We stood in the ocean for the first time in 2011!
+Somebody went #2 on the bus bathroom. I thought it was unspoken rule that you don't go #2 when you are on a bus ride that is 11+ hours. We should find the person who did this crime and lock them in there as a punishment. I'm afraid this smell will never leave my nose or memory.
+Drove through Las Vegas.
+ Ate at iHop. Twice.
+We ate a huge bag of gummy bears. Wahoooo!

That is all for now. To be continued tomorrow. The next space is a silence dedicated for all the lives lost because of September 11th. xoxo

bits of my weekend.

I learned ONE thing over this holiday weekend/road trip. And it was: If I knew how to scissor kick the wind to make it stop, I would.

While in Colorado, the wind was blowing 79 mph. Yes, 79mph. That is 79mph of unpleasantness. You would want to scissor kick the wind too if you were out and about in gusts of 79 mph. The ride to Colorado wasn't as hellish as anticipated. I achieved the mysterious comfortable spot that sometimes doesn't exist in the front seat to take a nap.

And alas, I am back to my little apartment. On the couch. Watching Scrubs. Craving a smoothie or a milkshake... And wanting a snuggle... And a million dollars... And a box full of puppies... And for work to be canceled til the end of forever!

The worst part of three-day-weekends are when they come to end. Sad face.

Can you spot the horse above? WOW!
I labeled the one above to make it easier to spot.

and then i started blogging again.

In my absence, I lost two followers. Bless you, two little followers. I still wish you a happy holiday.

Honestly, it felt nice being away from my laptop... mostly Facebook, for as long as I was. The more I think about it, the more I want to light my Facebook account on fire.

Reader, guess where I was? drdrdrdrdrdrdrdrdrddr (that's a drum roll) Las Vegas! I've never been before. It was.... excessive. Two and half days was all I needed to be there. I had a lot of favorite parts of the trip, like...
  •  Our Star Trek themed hotel room at Planet Hollywood.
  • Walking down the strip for the first time at 3AM. PEOPLE WATCHING!!!!
  • The Michael Jackson dancer... however he wasn't really dancing.
  • Finding my favorite color on a polka dotted scarf--for ten bucks.
  • Eating.
  • Eating. I know I just put eating, but I liked the food there so much, it deserved to be on here twice.
  • The view from our hotel.
  • The giant piece of cheesecake that was almost the size of my foot, that me and Steve shared.
My most favorite part was when I ordered a forty dollar Crab Feast and Landry's Seafood House. It was a feast indeed. And worth the forty bucks. It was my Christmas present to myself.

My not favorite part was when we were stuck in traffic for 80+ hours... which converts to like 2 hours in reality. Gah.

Now, I play the waiting game with Christmas. I need to get in the Christmas spirit. Maybe I'll go drink some egg nog in a santa hat under a massive Christmas light display singing 12 days of Christmas or something... ANYTHING.

south bend, indiana -- PART I

Part I
The Food.

Thanks to United Airlines for closing our connecting flight's gate 10 minutes early (very unexpected this was, we're still mad for no warning!!) we spent most of Thursday in the Denver and Chicago airports wandering with heavy luggage. This meant, the majority of the food we ate on this trip was at the airport. Food is food, I didn't mind.

IIIII want candy! (da da da DA DA!)
(above) Not food, but Legends, a place where we did indeed eat.
(above) MmmmMmmmmMm. Chicken sandwich that made my life complete.
(above) That's where I got that wonderful chicken sandwich.
The photo above is something I can't spell or pronounce. But it was very good and I liked it.

Not pictured: Buffalo Wild Wings, Deep Dish Chicago Pizza, and our food from Skybox.

greetings from Indiana.

Indiana did a great job at surprising me... not what I was expecting at all Reader, at all. But I do like it nonetheless. Right now, I'm sitting next to the large hotel window looking down on downtown Indiana while we prepare for a 'can we rent a wheelchair to wheel us back to the hotel? I ate too much' meal at Buffalo Wild Wings, I see:
  • A Burger King.
  • My bleak reflection in the window.
  • 3 cops pulling over 1 car.
  • Fifth Third Bank.
  • Irish pub.
  • Alphagraphics.
  • Touchdown Jesus lit up over on Notre Dame's campus.
And that's. about. it.

Reader, I am excited to share with you our adventure from Salt Lake City all the way to South Bend, Indiana and all the hiccups on the way. I don't even know if adventure is the correct word for what we've been through. Hmm, I'll look into that.

Oh, and remember that time I said I was a raging hypochondriac? Well, right now when my eye balls look down and look back up, I hear/feel a minuscule clicking in the back of my head... I'm thinking I'll have a seizure here at any minute......... So far to prevent it, I've exhaled really close to the window and drew a picture on the glass, I don't think that'll do much. Any suggestions? I have a problem.

my heart is in san francisco.

Remember how much I love San Francisco? Remember how I wish I was going there this weekend? Remember how I spent all Friday at work looking at pictures from San Francisco? Remember when I said remember when too much in one blog post? I've been there twice, once when I was a senior and again last Summer. I don't plan on ever leaving Utah as far as living goes. However, if I could live anywhere else in the world besides here (and Denmark, of course) I would choose San Francisco. Where would you choose?
