december!

It's here!

My favorite month out of the whole entire freaking year!

Not just because of Christmas, but that does have a huge part.

Anyway, this weekend was so fun but I have like two pictures for proof. WTF.

Friday:
Steve and I went over to his friend Dennis' house and hung out and played Mario Kart. He lives near Westminster and he has THEE cutest doggy named Daisy. She is 50% Pit Bill, 50% Lab and 100% adorable. Trust me. She has better manners than most humans I know, too. Ha. She liked to cuddle me too so it was a win all around. I want that dog.

Saturday:
A lot of nothing happened this day, but it was needed. Steve and I woke up, lounged around, the bunny played around on my lap and we watched Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmerman (have you watched this? SO intriguing) and then we decided we cannot watch food shows when we have nothing to eat. So we went down to Mokis and get take out. It hit all the right spots a hungry stomach could ask for. Then we got tired from all the nothing doing and eating so we napped (haha) then woke up and went and saw Skyfall. OMG. It doesn't matter what kind of movies you like you NEED to go see this. I'm being 100% serious when I say that I did the "raise the roof" motion in the theater when the credits started. It was amazing.

Sunday:
My newest niece Molly got blessed so I went to church to witness it and then went and ate lunch at my sister's house. Then I got in some serious bunny play time which we both loved and then we went down to eat dinner at Steve's parent's house.

eating healthy is booorrringg!

I'll say it again.

Eating healthy is boorrrring!

Well, I shouldn't say boring... it just sucks when my stomach is making jungle noises and all I want is a huge cheeseburger or huge plate of buffalo wings... but instead I all I get to eat is something like a salad or yogurt.

But I'll stop being a baby and just be happy that I'm seeing benefits from changing my diet completely. I'm not on some crazy diet where I eat SUPER healthy... I just don't eat fast food anymore and when I snack I snack on raspberries, grapes, granola, string cheese etc. And I try to eat as little of sugar as possible. Oh and I strictly drink water. Which I'm not complaining about because water is delicious. Do you know how many times I say "oh my gosh, water is delicious" after I'm drinking it? I love water. And it is delicious.

But yeah. I've been eating healthy for a full week now and I'm already seeing benefits. My skin is looking like I'm straight from a Covergirl photoshop session... okay no, that's a lie. It's not that good, but my skin is clear and really soft! My mood is improved. I don't find myself feeling as 'meh' and I feel really energized and happy.

I think this will last for a while cause i'm not really having a hard time sticking to it. I hope it lasts for a while.

Sorry I just gave you my life story on what I've been eating for the last week.

free lunch!

I am sitting at work right now picking at a lunch that was free. The only sad thing about a free lunch is when it's the ONE kind of food you don't like. Mexican. We got free lunch today and out of all the food out there, it had to be Mexican food. But i'll live.

People don't understand the "madness" that is me not liking Mexican food, but it's mostly cause I hate beans and beans happen to be the main thing in all Mexican food.

BUT

I have become pro at picking out something I like when I have no choice but to eat Mexican food. I just look for the cheese quesadillas or cheese enchiladas and I am safe. So that's what I got. And now I have the hiccups.

This is what it looked like.

Meh.

On a completely unrelated, irrelevant note.... I have this chapstick that I use called BabyLips. (by Maybelline) and I am obsessed. But that's not why I'm telling you this. The BabyLips I get is the light blue tube with the light pink writing. Anyway. That stuff smells and tastes like Fruity Pebbles. And every day when I get to work I go through the same cycle...

1. Put on BabyLips.
2. "Mmm. This tastes like Fruity Pebbles!!"

3. I should get some Fruity Pebbles tonight after work.
4. Go home.
5. Don't get Fruity Pebbles.

Next day...

1. Put on BabyLips
.... Well you get it.

craving food i've never even had.

So here is the thing. I've never in my life have eaten the famous food "eggs benedict". In fact, I didn't even know what it was exactly til like... a year ago. Bottom line is I have never tried eggs benedict or even been in the presence of someone who was consuming one.

For some reason I have been craving eggs benedict like cray for like, the last two weeks. Besides spending the last two weeks craving eggs benedict, I have also spent these last two weeks googling images of eggs benedict. Haha oh yes. I honestly googled is two times today just at work. IT LOOKS SO GOOD.

But what confuses me is, how can I crave something so badly that I have never eaten? Well I guess what I'm really craving is what I imagine it to taste like. And what I'm imagining... mmm. It could save lives I tell you. I was the same way with sushi before I tried it. I craved sushi on the daily before I actually tried it....and I still crave it on the daily.

My goal is to try eggs benedict sometime soon. Hopefully within the week. I can't wait.

i can't wait until i feel ways about things.

So, Hunger Games (book). At first I was like, "no." But now I am like, "yes. Sure, why not."

I started reading Hunger Games because overly obsessed sister kept asking me to. So I finally started and right now I am on Part III. I had a difficult time getting into this book. When I would put it down for a break, I honestly didn't care what was going to happen next. And I usually take that as a bad sign when reading a book. But good news is, I am finally interested and this book isn't so bad after all. Do you know how many people in my life told me that our friendship (and sistership, I guess) was on the line if I didn't like the Hunger Games series? Well it was a lot.

We went to Buffalo Wild Wings last night. Probably #1 favorite restaurant. If for some reason I am getting the death sentence and am faced a choice of picking my last meal, I already know what I am choosing. I've had this list for a while now... I need to prepared.

1. Buffalo Wild Wings - their buffalo wings, of course.
2. Cereal. Just what kind of cereal is the real question. I guess we'll have to wait to see what I'm craving before I die... it will probably be LIFE cereal. Ha! Get it? Sorry....
3. Cheese fries. Obviously.
4. More cheese fries. Obviously.
5. Sushi! The tiger roll from Red Ginger to be exact.
6.Cheddar potato soup.
7. Mountain Dew.
8. BBQ ribs.

And that is all for now. That list made me hungry.

using up my sick hours.

I don't feel good today. So I stayed home from work.

When my alarm went off today, I didn't even have to get out of bed to know I wouldn't be able to handle the day. But to be honest, every day when I wake up at 6AM it's hard for me to picture myself being anywhere else but my bed.

2 things I learned today:

1. Daytime TV sucks.
2. Don't watch Man vs Food when you are five kinds of hungry and don't have much in your pantry or fridge.

BRB. I will be at the store hoping to find things to eat that look half as delicious as the food I saw on Man vs Food.

dinner.

This is what I had for dinner tonight.
If my day was a sentence, this wonderful corn dog would definitely be the explanation point to end the day that I spent in bed and/or laying on the couch being sick.

I don't know if I'm going crazy or if this apartment is just haunted. Probably both.

three solid truths.

There a three solid truths in life that I am confidant in knowing they are true:

1. You will notice a certain object laying around your house every single day, but when the time comes that you actually need the object, you can't remember where you saw it.
2. I am always a very tired girl when I'm a work. I can only concentrate the image of me in a ball in my bed; but when I finally get home in my bed, the sleepiness has been replaced with mass amounts of energy that I don't know where to direct it to.
3. Whenever I want time to crawl, it goes by too quickly. Whenever I want time to go by quickly, it will go slower than tar going up Mount Everest.

Today, I was so busy at work, I e-mailed Shandey (my sister) to bring me a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger from Wendy's after she gets off work. She kindly accepted my request. Not only did she come with Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers, but she also surprised me with a mini chocolate frosty. This was great news because my belly had the rumblies that only Wendy's could satisfy.

And now, before I go to waste more time on the Internet... I leave you with this thirteen second video that I highly encourage you to watch. It's only thirteen seconds. It does not disappoint.

the day that started with sugar.

We had a breakfast potluck at work today. I remembered this on the way in to work and I was suddenly rambunctious because:

1. My belly was yelling at me, demanding food. And what my belly wants, my belly gets.
2. A breakfast potluck meant FOOD and more FOOD would be waiting for me to eat it when I got there.

As I stepped in the office, my illusion of stacks of pancakes and french toasts with the perfect amount of syrup dripping off it with sides of perfectly cooked bacon was quickly shattered. I was greeted with a box of Krispee Kreme Donuts, cinnamon and sugar bagels, chocolate muffins and some sort of variety of dry cereal with melted marsh mellow goo covering it. Not what I was expecting, but grateful, nonetheless. I was sure I was staring at some sort of sugar apocalypse. Just by observing the items in front me, I think I felt me getting four cavities. So I dove in.

In all my twenty-two years, this day will always be remembered as the day I ate mass amounts of sugar in less than twenty minutes. After playing the one player game of 'how much sugar can you eat before ten AM' I was soaring pretty high for a solid twenty minutes... that was soon interrupted by a very heavy and unpleasant sugar crash. I went from a three year old child with ADD on crack to basically a vegetable.

And now here I lay, on my bed, surrounded and buried by the Starburst wrappers from last night. Some people might say I have a problem with sugar, but I say, I just know how to have fun.

bits of my weekend.

 Coffee area at Nostalgia Coffee
My  friends Mike and Tyler across from me at Nostalgia.
Sunflower in the ally behind my apartment.  Say cheeeese little Sunflower!
Tyler's dogs giving more love and attention to Mike. I could have doggy treats covering every inch of my body and these dogs would still ignore me.
 Flowers. Yeah, just some flowers.
Scene from a corner gas station.
Photo evidence that I finally painted my nails after thinking about doing it every day.
 Nostalgia, again.
Just some fine dining on a Sunday night, single gal style.
Me giving a thumbs up to painted nails... and this weekend too.

bits of my weekend.

Two things I learned this weekend:
1. If you stare directly into the sunset you will continue to see it for like, two hours after when you close your eyes. It's like mini souvenir. But a dangerous souvenir that will probably cause permanent damage to your eyes.
2. If you don't know what is in old purse I suggest you don't jam your hand in there like there is a full plate of cheese fries waiting to be eaten at the bottom... because there might somehow be a broken picture frame in there and you will slice your finger right on open.

The two sauces in the above picture is ketchup and fry sauce. For those of you not from Utah, fry sauce is... wonderful, just wonderful. It's ketchup mixed with mayo.  It's a Utah thing.

bits of my weekend.

Three things I learned this weekend:
1. At casinos, I guess cleveage becomes a shelf. When I was at the casino, girls had things from packs of cigarettes to cell phones in their cleveage. I even think I saw a book stuffed in there too, and a small plant...
2. If you get home at 9AM from gambling with friends, you will sleep until 3:30pm and feel a mixture of accomplishment and shame.
3. Reading is the greatest escape. Please ignore how cliche and cheesy that sounds.

IN OTHER NEWS:
1. My birthday is in 19 days.
2. Harry Potter 7 part II comes out in 39 days.
3. Cheers to a great week, Reader.

bits of my weekend.

Three things I learned this weekend:
1. I all of sudden became a meat-a-tarian. Not sure if that is a real word or not but just know I was craving and dreaming of steak all weekend. I was tempted to order steak as an appetizer as I was waiting for my steak.
2. EVERYTHING is better is tiny form. For instance, chocolate milk is delicious, but it's even better when it comes in a mini bottle. I am coo-coo for mini things.
3. I need self control when it comes to candy. My eyes are bigger than my sweet tooth. I go on something that looks like a mix between a sugar rampage and a sugar shopping spree, binge for 5-10 minutes and then complain for the next 2-3 hours that I feel sick from too much candy. It's a vicious cycle and I will probably never learn my lesson.

STORY TIME!! Gather round.

So, this weekend, I was out to dinner with Steve and our longtime friend Scott. As the waitress seated us I made Steve and Scott sit on the same side of the table. Well, as the time came for the waiter to leave the check he asked if it was all together or if we needed it split and I said, "those two (as in Steve and Scott) are together and I'm separate." I was joking and it made the waiter laugh and I embarrassed the hell out Steve and Scott.  They eventually laughed. It was hilarious and it was awesome.

bits of my weekend.

I loved this weekend because:
1. I was pleasantly surprised when I checked my bank account to see my tax returns happily sitting in there waiting to be spent. Or saved. But probably spent.
2. The apartment is clean. A little too clean.
3. Was introduced to this new song. OBSESSING!!! Awesome is an overused word, but really, this song is awesome.
4. I got to write in the dates on my whiteboard calendar for April. I feel incredibly lame that this is usually the one and only highlight of my month.

I didn't love this weekend because:
1. It snowed. I'm usually happy to look out my window and see that it's snowing... except when it's April and the weather the day before was so sunny (chirping birds included) and the temperature was like 70. Imagine my heartbreak when I saw the snow.
2. I had a nightmare that I was flying in an airplane that didn't have floors. So my feet were just dangling there and my shoes fell off. I know this was just a dream... but I still woke up and was very thankful I was in my bed NOT dangling out of anything that is 8 miles high.

(above) Look at what crazy stuff I have going on on the 15th, 21st and 22nd. I know, right??

bits if of my weekend.

I loved this weekend because:
+It has three days instead of two. Wee! [insert raising the roof motion here]
+I ate my most favorite sushi roll at the Red Ginger. Dynamite Roll. Seriously, look at that picture and tell me you aren't drooling. Cause I know I am... still.
+ I went bowling at bowled four, that's right, FOUR strikes in a row.
+I ate a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. They are adorable. I didn't remember them being this adorable. I almost didn't want to eat it cause it was just so cute.

I didn't love this weekend because:
+I watched George of the Jungle on TV. Yeah, it's the one you are thinking of Reader. It has Brennan Frasier in it. No clue why it was my favorite movie in 3rd grade.
+I didn't win any contests... or the lottery.
+Nobody surprised me with a basket full of puppies on my doorstep.
+I didn't eat one Otter Pop.
+I had to do the dishes.
+I dropped my cell phone on my face while laying down and texting.
